If you’re looking on amazon try camelcamelcamel

For general stuff I use Skinflint occasionally to see what the trend is. But I’m not always sure how much trust to place in the sites. I only really bother looking for price history with Amazon because they nickel and dime customers so much with fluctuating prices. If I notice an item I want goes on “offer” a lot then camelcamelcamel lets me work out the trend… :joy:

Very much this!

This is what I remind people when they go on about discounted stuff.

For example, 20% off something you were not going to buy before being discounted, is not 20% saved, it is 80% spent!

100 per cent spent surely

Hey, yeah! Technically, you’re right Glen! :man_facepalming:

I do want a new tv  my 42” doesn’t quite cut it with eyes any more.

Are glasses not cheaper

Glasses are more up close (phone, laptop, etc).

For everything else I’m ok.

Just feel like my tv doesn’t fill the space it needs to and sometimes have to squint to get a good shot on gaming :joy:

Ah, gaming! Yeah, I can see the advantage then. Though not a gamer personally.

By the time I have selected weapon and got crosshair on head of enemy, my screen turns red :man_facepalming:

Getting a bit like that for me :grimacing:

Pretty good deal on Playstation Direct at the moment for existing PS Plus subscribers. If anyone is interested.

12 months of Netflix Premium if you buy a PS5 or PSVR2. The best deal looks to be the PS5 Digital Slim, it’s £389 to buy. If you already pay for Netflix Premium at £17.99 per month, this means a saving of approx £210.

After Netflix savings, the effective cost of the PS5 is a mere £179.

Not too shabby, if you already subscribe to PS Plus and would like a PS5, that is.

Do we have a deals thread? If not, should we have one?

Lots of it definitely is, but there definitely are bargains available but as someone else said, you need to have wanted it in the first place.

I have a list of Christmas presents that I’m going to buy and if they are cheaper that weekend I’ll get them cheaper, or I’ll pay normal price.

I’ve been contemplating this for a couple of weeks as we do pay for top tier Netflix.

Could then potentially sell my Series X and end up cost neutral too.

It’s a decent deal for sure. I would go for the PSVR2 with 12 months of Netflix Premium but the MacBook Pro M4 and PS5 Pro both arriving in November is going to be painful enough on the wallet. No more tech for a while… :frowning:

Let us know if you go for the deal. I’m guessing they will just send you a Netflix code, and your monthly payments will just stop for a year once entered? I’m assuming it will work for existing Netflix customers.

If you played cod the game pass saves purchase of a £70 game instantly. Sony’s equiv is weak sauce for value tbh.
Buy the ps5, redeem Netflix, sell ps5 for a slight discount over rrp as unwanted gift?

I had gamepass for 3 years using the old upgrade trick and I barely made use of it.

I just prefer to hoover up cheap deals off eneba/gamivo.

I really don’t need a PS5.

It’s saved me a few bob with the kids at least. I get it for free with one of my ee sims. Sim costs £13.50 a month and I get Xbox ultimate with it.
I do have a stack of time using the upgrade trick as well for when I lose this sim deal.

I’m planning to get a Switch 2 “for the kids” when it comes out.

Only needed a Lite to play on my own and I’ll be damned if I buy a full Switch at this point.

I use an extension like Honey or CamelCamelCamel to see the price history. This shows if it has been hiked up in the weeks prior, and overall if it’s ever come at that price (or less) before.

I do the exact same. Did it in prime day other week. Use the camel website combined with the Amazon mobile app

It’s surprising when you see previous prices and I like how it tells you the all time lowest to see if you’re actually getting a deal or not.
