I accept that the transaction is pending and may not clear. But most do. If the function to add a pending transaction isn’t possible then the option to update the notes on the pending transaction would be useful. As by the time the transaction clears I’ve forgotten what it was for.

This is a great perspective and I didn’t realise the transaction ID would differ from pending to settled!
However, I would be surprised if monzo cannot link the two using a transaction trail. So when the pending transaction with the current transaction ID changes to settled and has a different transaction ID, it can link the two and update the payment accordingly in the split.
Conceptually this seems relatively basic but maybe I’m underestimating the complexity of this from a technical perspective..

Will there ever be support for regular non-50/50 splits?
Thats the only thing missing now for me and im sure a few others?
For example id love to be able to add the mortgage to the shared tab each month at at 2/3 split to me

+1. Regular unequal splits are still painful. Back to the spreadsheet I go
