Agreed. A toggle with something like “If you spent as you did last month this is how your balance would look” or even better an average spend over 6 months or something would be great.

Or maybe integrating it with a budgeting / planning function where you can tell it expenditure that you know is going to happen, or to give expected daily spend etc.

Still quietly hoping Monzo will one day just shamelessly rip off Money Dashboard’s Planner feature. Being able to plot future known income/expense on a graph that automatically updates to your true balance is extremely useful to me.
One thing that I think lives here @avb @AlanDoe would be some logic additions to budgeting.
It would really help me manage money if there was a logic at merchants - My local spar is also my location fuel station. But I want to split out these into groceries and fuel for example.
It would be great if you could set it so that if the transaction was less than an amount (e.g 5-10) it would default to groceries otherwise default to fuel

Just got it and I’m loving the disco pink line graph.
One thing I’d like to see is the left to spend figure broken down.
So if £57.15 is the total left to spend, how much is that per week and per day until the end of the period.

I’d like a prediction too lol. Even through the current summary feature of “you’re set to have £XX left over” is pretty basic in how it calculates it (and often underestimates for me), it always helps curb my spending.

A word of caution to all those offering tips and suggestions as to how Monzo might help with the cost of living crisis - if any plan is implemented with the same speed as a Trends update to all customers then the living crisis and recession will be over

Finally!
I/we use different periods for the different accounts. I use my actual pay period for mine but use calendar month for the joint account as my partner gets paid on the last working day, so it’s a bit skewed when you try and look at the joint account.
I still think it’s a great update and giving more insights can only be a good thing.
