Archiving custom/standard categories

I have a lot of categories that I no longer use after going through a phase of using them in the past. Ones that spring to mind are from past trips abroad where I would name a category “France” for example.

It can be frustrating trying to assign categories I use most often to a recent purchase when there’s a sea of ones I’m not interested in anymore.

Please could you make a way to archive categories to make it more streamlined when assigning categories?

Great suggestion, however you can already delete custom categories. 2 different methods i’ve found:

Method 1:

  • Go to any transaction
  • Click on the current category (as if to choose a different one)
  • Click on “Edit” in the top right
  • Tap on the category you want to get rid of
  • Edit it, or click “Remove category” at the bottom
  • New popup windows shows, stating that Payments already categoried as it will stay as they are
  • Click on "Remove

Method 2:

  • Click onyour paid accounts name on your bottom bar (Plus/Premium/Extra/Perks/Max)
  • Click on “Custom categories”
  • Tap on the category you want to get rid of
  • Edit it, or click “Remove category” at the bottom
  • New popup windows shows, stating that Payments already categoried as it will stay as they are
  • Click on "Remove

Any transactions you’ve set as that category will stay as that until changed again, even after deleting said category.
