Apply for a joint account missing from App for ineligible people [JAs Still Offered]

I’ve just noticed that Apply for a joint account is no longer an option in my Monzo app. Could this mean it’s getting ready for a full roll out? Or just no longer showing for people who aren’t eligible!

It’s still there for me.

Still there for me too. I suppose that’s one way to reduce the number of queries about people not being able to open accounts :woman_shrugging:

Apply for joint account option disappeared for me yesterday.

Used help function to search joint account, came up with option to open…

Gives me this page instantly.

Then this…

Tapping no thanks just sends me in constant loops of the same above.

That’s very odd! I really hope they don’t remove the joint accounts all together!

This is probably more confusing, at least sort of explain people aren’t allowed joint accounts.

Also same with the main issue. I could apply before today.

Would they remove joint accounts? I like having one with Starling. My Mrs isn’t allowed to reopen her Monzo account so don’t know if we’d get one anyway.

I feel like removing the button will cause more people to question it such as starting threads or support.

This also comes up for me , hopefully they are just making some changes and all will be restored at some point in the future

The only two scenarios I can think of are:

  • The ‘apply for a joint account’ button is hidden if you’re not eligible for one.
  • It’s a bug

I highly doubt they’re removing joint accounts.

Improving them could be something.

Think other half would feel happier having it all in monzo :upside_down_face:

My Mrs has emailed Monzo again to see if she can reopen her account, wish we could get a joint account to move over from Starling.

They replied last night with a big fat nope.

Fun. Oh how I wish I could know Monzo’s criteria for reopening accounts and for opening JAs. I can do both but so many people can’t.

Puts me off to be honest, willing to move all our Banking to Monzo but because she closed her account years ago they aren’t interested.

I only use mine for flex and personal spends but might as well just move over to Starling where our joint account is and forget about flex. :confused:

Get a 0% credit card and you’ll have Flex for up to 24 months. Needs a bit of discipline and it’s not as slick but it’s better otherwise. Big banks are also likely to give you a decent limit

I don’t get why Monzo became so picky. Yes all banks can pick and choose customers but I’d like to think most of us here can open accounts at any bank (well, not @Carlo1460 :laughing:) except Monzo. Something doesn’t feel and I’d love to know what
