App Evolution (new look Monzo app): Feedback Megathread šŸ“£

It’s not limited, you can change it in the target tab, add a monthly spend target, change the reset date in that same process.

I can’t see it still unfortunately, and I’m on the latest app update

I. Don’t. Want. To. Set. A. Monthly. Target.

I can do that myself on the fly looking at the available to spend value when I look at my phone when I’m in a shop deciding whether or not to buy something.

Stop defending a process that has added extra steps to the previous process like it’s a win for everyone

You have a problem, I’ve tried to help you resolve the problem, you’ve now become irate over how to resolve the problem.

Don’t plea for help and then get mardy when someone explains how to help.

Yes you don’t want to fix your problem, fine, stop spamming the community about it.

Setting a target isn’t going to impact you anywhere, you’re leaving yourself with a problem you refuse to resolve.

Good night.

The topic is new look feedback. I’m providing feedback.

I’m a Monzo premium account holder. I think I’m allowed to provide feedback and state clearly I’m not happy with the new UI when I’m paying for it.

Don’t you still have access to Summary (the old spending tracking/budgeting tool) by clicking the Monzo card at the top of the new interface? I still have access to it via this route.

Trends doesn’t yet have the full set of options that Summary has for resetting budgeting/tracking cycles. But I suspect Monzo will add this before completely removing Summary from the app. There must be one or two reasons they haven’t yet removed Summary and this is probably one of them.

Their problem isn’t not having summary, they wanted left to spend to be reflective of the correct date, but didn’t want to resolve it the way it’s designed at present.

Maybe monzo can make that a separate part of trends to just update the reset date.

As someone who only uses Monzo as petty cash account, it looks fine to me.

To be fair, I didn’t want to set a target amount either. It’s a silly solution to a problem created by the new Trends feature that wasn’t there previously.
Customers will miss a feature they’ve had previously if it’s taken away from them, that isn’t the customer’s fault.

Christ.

I was looking yesterday and couldn’t find that.

Didn’t notice the top right month button. Fml.

Thanks for pointing out

I think what this is showing is that the whole thing is overly complex.
We’re geeks on this forum, high-level users, and even we’re confused and miss things.

But the Trends cycle reset box still lacks at least one feature from the Summary version of cycle reset. Hence my earlier suggestion for @mmaxwell728 to continue using Summary until Trends gains improved cycle reset features.

I personally think Trends is far too convoluted for most people, myself included.

I think Monzo needs to introduce two modes for Trends. A simple mode (with a single tab providing a simple spending tracker and a single version of left to spend) and an advanced mode for those who want more (the current multi-tab approach which provides several semi-overlapping features).

I agree. Im normally pretty good with things like this but getting Trends to work exactly how I need it isnt a simple task. Or should I say, it may be simple but not to me.

Getting the right balance between what accounts & pots to include and what categories to exclude is confusing.

I have two upcoming receipts due in the next 2 days.

But on the feed this shows as ā€œ2 upcoming paymentsā€?

If you mean payment inbound as receipts, I’d still view it as it’s still 2 payments in to your account with a green figure to the right.

There’s only really space for one word in the activity feed once you include the ā€˜x’ upcoming bit.

Given that, I think most people would think ā€˜receipt’ is a better word for things like upcoming salary income or redemptions from savings pots (which the 2 transactions are in my case). The fact the amount is green indicates it’s a receipt but that still jars with the word ā€˜payment’ in the description for me.

Payments is far more logical than receipt, especially when it could be a mixture of the two.

Payment in.

Payment out.

I struggle to understand any other reasoning

Looks like you filled out the form after we did the last batch. We’ll do another batch later in the week :+1:

Is anyone else being asked to unlock the app almost every time they click through to the new Flex account screen?

I don’t have app lock turned on in settings, and I can move around the rest of the app without needing to unlock.
