App Evolution (new look Monzo app): Feedback Megathread šŸ“£

I have the new pots carousel (I like it), the new interface I definitely getting to be more useable now).

But still don’t have the new Flex feed although I filled in the form within only a few minutes of it being available.

I disable the Overview, personally, because I like my home panel to be uncluttered. I might be more amenable to it if it were contained in a ā€˜card’ like the other elements, right now it seems like it doesn’t fit.

I’m happy the ā€˜upgrade’ button is much less intrusive than in the old layout, but I would happier if it just weren’t there at all.

Ah none for me yet then, alas

Me.

How do I do it again? :joy:

Actually, I’m the flip side. iOS 17 but not on TestFlight

I am on TestFlight and iOS 17

I was hoping for quick access to my flex transactions… but alas it’s 4 clicks away :unamused:

  1. Click the flex card in the homepage to expand it
  2. Click the flex card in the homepage again to actually load it
  3. Click ā€œSee allā€ under Activity (I have no plans so activity is empty)
  4. Click ā€œPaid offā€

I’d love to see this streamlined massively.

  1. Click flex card in homepage loads the flex page containing a combined list of current and outstanding transactions, with outstanding ones at the top…

Everyone that filled out the form should now have the new Flex feed. Let me know if it’s not showing up for you.

I’ll leave the form open until the middle of next week then do one last batch and close it.

As always, thanks for the feedback so far and please keep it coming

Thanks Tom - just got it now :+1:

I like that when you pull the screen down this closes it. Can the same functionality come to cashback please so I don’t have to press the X button in the corner? just feels smoother

This is looking good now @TomMills.

A question… I have Flex down with ā€œother accountsā€ in Plus.

Clicking into Flex gives the new feed appearance and the card shows as the only thing there (can’t swipe left or right).

Clicking into one of my other account cards takes me into the old carousel and I can swipe through all my other accounts (except Flex) and pots (even though I have the new pots scrolling in the new home screen).

I assume that a) at some point ā€œother accountsā€ will adopt the same style as Flex has now, and b) the ā€œoldā€ accounts / pots / Flex/ other accounts carousel functionality will eventually disappear?

Unfortunately I can’t say I really like this as it is right now.

The pot carousel on the homepage is slick and the animations are smooth. I really like that. You can flick through the pots quickly and easily.

The pot carousel on the pot page, however, does not react in the same way. I find the scrolling a bit hit and miss, sometimes having to swipe twice or more to scroll to the next / previous pot. It’s also slowed down as you can only scroll one pot at a time…

The animations don’t help either as the screen goes to full blank in between swipes from one pot to the next. This creates flicker and general jankiness. I’m hoping that this is something that can be tweaked easily to smooth out the animation.

The time taken to swipe seems quite long if you have a fair number of pots. In some circumstances I think it’s actually quicker to go back to the homescreen pot carousel, and select from there. Esp if I want to go from my first personal pot to my last joint one. I shouldn’t really have to make a mental calculation as to which navigation is going to be quicker…

i am not seeing it in the app yet , not sure if i have been missed from the list ?

Edit: i have it now after restarting my phone. :+1:t2:

Are you on iOS or Android? If you don’t mind, could you share a video of the flicker to dylanlewis@monzo.com please so we can take a closer look?

email sent @dylanslewis

I’m on Android 5.37.0

Cheers

Unsure if better or worse with this on.

Hate it. Left to spend doesn’t work anymore. I can see about three ways to set a pay day target which in my case changes month to month. Doing it the old way would show how much I had left to spend under my main balance.

Now I’m being forced to use spending trends which I don’t want to use.

Left to Spend doesn’t work anymore.

I used to just select the pie chart then the calendar icon and set a pay date. Which in my case changes each month.

My left to spend was then listed under my balance.

Now it’s a tile which forces me to use ā€˜trends’ to set a budget. I don’t want to set a budget. I just want Monzo to show how much I’ve left to spend after setting a simple pay date.

Left to spend is still there, but I will admit it’s now a bit hidden.
It’s in the ā€œBalanceā€ tab of Trends, about half way down, underneath the breakdown section.

You can also add this left to spend back to the home screen by dragging down and adding it as a widget :+1:

Not as simple, but it’s there.

Yeah but it’s going from the first of the month to the last day of the month which isn’t accurate for me.

To change the date I’m being forced to use trends and set up a spending schedule to set up a date for which I get paid (which changes each month).

Oh sorry I didn’t realise it was so limited on date ranges.
Then yep that sucks.
