Another new feature this week?

Joint account overdraft for sure! :joy:

You’d think they’d let us know, transparency being one of their values and all, instead of sneakily editing blog posts.

Interesting…

I’m not gonna get drawn into that discussion. Thanks.

Maybe they want to make sure that whatever he is announcing is ready to go before launching (if it is something new) after having to pull the salary sorter back down very quickly. I don’t think that is a bad move to be honest.

Yeah, it is fine to wait, but

(Edit: This announcement has been delayed yada yada yada)

would have been a better bet for the blog change

That is terrible for a company who claims to be transparent. I would love them to justify this. All they had to do was say ‘sorry, we hit a snag, now it will be the week after’. I am starting to find Monzo quite arrogant. Remember who got you this far, and also remember you are not too big to fail. Do not treat your users and fans like idiots.

So you approve of your bank editing blog posts, hoping that nobody notices, whilst claiming to be transparent. Got it.

Sneaky is not a quality that anyone should want in a bank.

They’ve removed a line about a blog post. They haven’t sold all our data to the lowest bidder.

There’s probably far more important things for you to get so upset over.

Don’t worry about me. It makes no difference to my life, I doubt I would use a new feature whatever it may be.

However, if a company claims to be transparent, they need to be held to account. Luckily many people do hold them to account.

Well this has gone predictably downhill. Can we keep to the topic at hand please.

Are you sure you’re not confusing Monzo with the Tory/Labour/LibDem party?

What on earth is going on? Add this to the list.

I agree that we should not have edited the blog post. Or more accurately, we should have definitively decided that we were going ahead with what we planned before publishing the post. We’re sorry about that and hope it hasn’t damped your trust in us.

So, in the spirit of transparency - we initially wanted Tom to talk a little bit about what Monzo 3.0 means for the future of the company, in combination with the Salary Splitter being the last piece of it that we hadn’t yet announced.

But ultimately we decided it would be better for him to talk more about the things we’ll be doing to wrap up 2019 and how we’re looking ahead to 2020. It’s a lot more significant, and more meaningful, and ultimately the whole Monzo 3.0 thing doesn’t exist in isolation - it’s more of a new rounded base point and foundation that we’re planning to build on.

I think we are past the point now where Tom needs to be the person announcing new features, and it’s much more impactful for you to hear from him when there’s much more to be said. That will happen, and when the time is right, I personally believe that that is a much better approach.

With the revamp of Plus being something that’s being heavily shaped, structured and figured out right now, it might also make sense for you to hear longer, strategic thoughts from Tom when we have a clearer picture of how the new Plus structure will work, and perhaps some thoughts from him on how we are looking to turn it around and what we learned there, and we aren’t at that place just yet.

As always, we appreciate you all letting us know. The intention wasn’t to be sneaky - it’s just that plans sometimes change. We should have communicated that a little better, and that’s on us. Thank you for always being there to help and guide us - we truly appreciate all of you

I was hoping for Tom to tell us “Here’s dark mode, a metal card for all and Brexit has been sorted!”

Thank you for the clarity, and honesty.

Onwards and upwards!
