@Jay5487 Congrats! :mondo:
Still waiting… or should I perhaps just give up and admit defeat? Little chance of me getting an email now.
Hey dude if it’s possible I’ll happily donate you £20 of my investment (1/2) shares so you can stay part of this if it helps. By donate I mean you can pay me the face value.
Thanks Bruce for the offer, that’s most kind. I’m more annoyed at the way crowd funding was handled and the reaction from some members of the community. I’ve already had my Monzo account closed after I requested it as I’ve been discouraged from the community a bit.
Crikey Thom - what reason did Monzo give you for them closing your account ?
I asked them to close it. I was discouraged by the communities reaction to my comments and that I feel the whole crowdfunding was done really poorly. I also wanted all my money under one current account and a savings account to make it easier to manage too.
I think some of your comments were mis understood - sometimes due to your admitted wrong (?) presentation of the point - sorry to see you leave - I agreed on some of the points you made , sorry you couldn’t accept that you can disagree with somebody else viewpoint - its a shame, still as I said previously entirely your choice if you’re not comfortable with the product offered - good luck
Fair enough dude! Hopefully something awesome happens and you come back
All is good, I was thinking about how I used my current bank recently and Monzo had some glaring gaps which haven’t either been fully answered or confirmed yet such as paying in cash (where and how) and about the lack of a web interface (will it be built and what features) so I was always on the fence of what happens and I’ll see.
I know I could always come back; the problem was never about me being able to see or disagree with others points or faults in my own it was the venom in some comments and how I was feeling as if every word I was saying was being picked apart by certain users here; it’s very much in the past now and I’d love to leave it there.
Hi Thom. I think you should reopen the monzo account and keep fighting your corner on the forums and with everyone’s different thoughts we can all help to make something great. A bit of conflict keeps things lively and when i get annoyed on here cos i feel like all the forum police are being bossy and telling me my opinion or tone is wrong i just switch off and come back when things have cooled down and i can start ruffling feathers again another day
The reason why 95% of people don’t use these forums or contribute their opinion anywhere online is because they are afraid of being gunned down again and so they keep their opinion to themself, my advice is don’t be afraid of being wrong because you are never wrong, even when you are wrong . Tom Blomfield even posted a comment/link about this psychological problem with giving your opinion online and it’s effects on the quality of discussion/feedback last year on his twitter… i dont have the link as this isnt a thesis and im just an ordinary person who doesnt have a source or quote for every other word
Lol.
I think you are right that monzo messed up this crowdfunding malarky again and if you feel let down because it may have been open to manipulation then that’s a valid point and it would be good if monzo addressed that clearly rather than you being told off by the monzo mafioso for making unfounded allegations or whatever. If that’s unfounded then monzo should clarify that there was no room for manipulation, which naji kind of has done but there are still questions.
The next post will probably be someone picking this apart with detailed quotes and links and they will get 10 likes vs my 0 likes… so let me jinx it… First one to gun me down or edit post or send a message saying my tone is inappropriate can suck my mondo investor card
this is the internet and people can say what they want (within reason
)
let me be the first to say your tone is inappropriate
I think your tone is inappropriate and you’re being needlessly hostile and incendiary.
I assume I belong to monzo mafia as well? Because I’m not sure. Please clarify who are you trying to offend.
This is monzo forum which has guidelines and rules. First of all, posts are not edited. Secondly, your tone is inappropriate, being Monzo investor gives you NO special rights on this forum, nor use phrases like ‘suck my mondo investor card’. Shame.
No posts are ever edited by anyone other than the authour themselves, this is something both Monzo staff and ‘moderators’ highly believe in. The only time it will ever show up is if we edit the title of the thread which shows up as an edited pencil on the post.
If anyone is offended by that then you are in the forum mafia! Monzo is great, no one loves Monzo more than me, believe me, but get a life and stop telling people what they can and can’t say. Let the other 95% of users have their say without telling them off.
Can everyone just calm down and cut out the personal attacks? Most of us are here to read about the investment round, not to trade insults.
The sooner this investment round is over, the better. The hostility has taken over what was once a nice friendly discussion…
Hey Everyone,
Looks like this got off track quite a bit.
This is pretty simple, everyone is welcome to their opinion and should add to the discussion even if it’s not in the favour of . However, being aggressive, putting others down for their opinion and using inappropriate language is something we don’t welcome here. It’s disappointing to see any hostile moments in this environment.
I very simply want to ask everyone to try and be a little more tolerant here and try to keep topics on track. If you have an issue, please get in touch with me or @anon38211169 directly.
Now back to Crowdfunding…
Agreed Zainab
This one thread has made a very exciting, innovative forum full of ideas and hopes for the future, into a boring predictable and ultimately, unpleasant place to be.
Let’s draw a line eh?..
So… another batch of emails to be expected today? I know we are down to the last 87k but I’m still holding out hope for that email.
