[Android] Monzo app not opening

Issue:
App not opening. I use my fingerprint and the app closes. When I try to reopen the app after I just see the blue screen with the monzo logo

I have the same problem, app only shows the logo and nothing happens.

Do the permissions on your device allow the Monzo app access to the device storage?

Are you online (WiFi/mobile data active)?

Remove the app, restart your phone and then reinstall.

This usually fixes 99% of issues :slight_smile:

I’m having this exact problem

The app has all the necessary permissions. And connection is not a problem.

I’ve been reading reports monzo is down and user are unable to make payments.

Would the app be effected by this?

Not at this point.

Please try;

  1. Uninnstall the app (important)
  2. Download and install the app again on your phone
  3. Run the Monzo app, it will ask you for an email address
  4. Enter the same email address you used to initially join Monzo - the app will then send a magic link to that email address
  5. Using your phone’s email client to access your email (the same email used initially to sign up with Monzo), look for the very latest email from Monzo with a Magic Link and then follow the instructions in that email (it will have a box to tap on)
  6. Once tapped on, the Monzo app will open and login to your account - and should work from this point unless you log out of the app

If the above does not work, please let me know where it fails.

I had this problem on my android phone yesterday evening. I cleared the app storage and logged back in resolving the issue.
