Am I right in thinking if I hold a virtual card and a physical card, I am unable to create a disposable card?
They don’t offer disposable (on Android anyway).
Oh ok, think I jumped the gun and misread something. Thanks.
The card has arrived finally, went with blue as most of my cards are dark.
Pretty nice, I don’t get the point providing an extra plastic card just to say ‘scan this QR code to activate this card’.
Please forgive me if this is a stupid question - how are you navigating to that ‘Categories’ page you posted in the app? I can’t locate it.
TIA
No question is stupid.
When you’re in the app, click on a transaction, then you’ll see that it has a category assigned to it already e.g. Tesco will be assigned Groceries. Click on Groceries and it’ll open up all the other categories that you could reassign the transaction to.
Thankyou - got it now!
Made some nice Cashback already from my daily spending, it’s great to see Chase’s rewards system have some sort of competition, even though Algbra is not a bank.
Same, it’s 0 effort as well so the extra 0.5% is nice.
Although it would be nice to see the cashback and what specific transaction it’s from like you can with Chase.
I’ve given this a go after seeing it mentioned and really like what I’m seeing so far. The interface and layout is pretty good.
The challenge for me is that they’re not a bank and therefore I wouldn’t want to risk putting anything more than a weeks spending money there.
It’s also not clear whether they intended to become a bank, especially as they state they are a movement and not a bank.
Certainly worth a look though IMO.
Is there a public register somewhere that lists which companies have applied for Banking Licences? Just to see if Algbra have even applied for a licence yet?
This is exactly what I’ve done.
I move a week’s spend at a time into Algbra. Better to be safe than sorry.
I’m keen to know who is funding them as 1.5% cashback is for a whole year.
Yeah I’m with you on Algbra. I love the concept, and the app is super slick but I’m a little wary of EMI’s and any real money.
If they do get a licence I could easily see them becoming my return to fintech.
I’ve been using Algbra for a number of weeks now and haven’t had any issues whatsoever.
My first transaction using it was fouled up in-store by a cashier over-charging me, followed by a discussion between two staff and a supervisor on the correct method of re-imbursing me.
I was a little anxious of how things might turn out, but everything worked fine in-app.
I similarly shift relatively small sums across prior to spending. As mentioned above, I would also like to see cashback amounts linked to their individual transactions but it not being there for now is something I can live with.
At the moment, I can’t find anything negative about my experience with them.
The app logs me out after what feels like every update which is annoying.
Haven’t used them for much else as it’s just revolut in disguise
There are definitely similarities but are they using the same platform?
They do claim have a Bank as a service platform.
I liked Revolut but was put off by them not being a bank and all the negativity and question marks raised about the company.
Fairs, the experience for algbra just feels too alike so happy to stick to what I know.
I would like to see what transaction each cashback reward is linked to.
When you tap it does it show you what you purchased?
