I tried to link to PayPal. Seems to be working. Now waiting for their trial deposits to show up in my Monzo account.

I just tried it again now that you’ve said that it works and lo and behold, it does now. I am also now waiting for the trial deposits.

We’ve had a couple of reports of different classes of problems linking to PayPal that we’re looking into

  • A failure when adding account details on PayPal’s end (glad to hear this seems to have been sporadic for you!)
  • Only one of the two verification deposits coming through (though this may well be solved by waiting :hourglass_flowing_sand:)

thanks for the update. i am still waiting for the trial deposits to show up in Monzo. Is there anyway to verify Monzo account by using login details?

I think that would require Plaid support.

As @Js38wju3jda suggests, we’d need to integrate with Plaid for that. It’s on our radar :sparkles:

I am afraid that there may be some issue as I have not yet received the trial deposits from Pay Pal. Normally, the very next day it will show up. Anyone else, succesfully linked Monzo account with PayPal??

None of those I have looked at accepting ITIN instead of SSN. If I’m wrong let me know.

I am successfully connected Monzo with Ally bank account through trial deposits verification within 2 days. But PayPal trial deposits never showed up.

Same here. PayPal debited my account but didn’t put the trial deposits in so now I’m out 40-something cents

I can clearly notice that linking Monzo to PayPal is not at all working. In order to link a bank account to PayPal, the account details are to be verified either though an instant login option or trial deposits. Monzo gives only the option of verifying through trial deposits. Normally, the very next day, one can see the trial deposits from PayPal. But with Monzo, even after waiting for 3 days, the trial deposits have not yet reached. Monzo should look into this matter and try to resolve it quickly.

Thanks all - we’re actively investigating the issues some have reported with PayPal and Cash App. I’ll let you know when we know more :male_detective:

We’ve identified an issue where our ACH intermediary isn’t automatically alerting us about new ACH deposits specifically when they come from PayPal. We’re working with them to get this hooked up :wrench:

As soon as that’s done your deposits will show up in the Monzo app, and we’ll post here about it too.

You can pay your AWS invoices with any US ACH enabled bank account. Adding a bank account is easy!
