Account refused

Hi I have my account and my son is 16 intended to get one but got refused saying the passport don’t look like him passport has 1 year left so from 12 year old to 16 is a big change can you help

I think you’ve answered your own question there. This is the reason it was rejected for not looking like him.

Valid forms of ID to open a Monzo account are as follows:

  • Passport
  • Driving licence (your provisional is fine)
  • National ID card
  • Biometric residence permit
  • Firearm or shotgun certificate
  • Electoral Identity Card issued by the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland

So unless your son has any of those, renewing his passport seems to be the only way forward. You can try asking Monzo if there are any other options but I guess they have to be fairly strict on these things.
