Does anyone know how long the white ‘eco’ debit card has been out of stock. It says it is ‘expected’ to be back in stock in July, just wondering how accurate this is.

It was also out of stock in January, don’t know the earliest date.

Isn’t it 1%? I remember it was 1% from when it launched, don’t remember seeing notification about them reducing and I also don’t bother calculating mine.

Edit: Got it. Now 0.5%

Yikes. So not accurate at all.

Not a huge change after all

Has anyone noticed Wise transfers taking longer than they used to? I’ve used Wise consistently for the past 7+ years (I get paid in USD into a US account but I live in the UK) and usually the transfers take a few minutes, hours at most. The past two I’ve done are taking 4-5 days… Not the end of the world, but certainly frustrating. Has anyone else been experiencing the same thing?

I have seen similar complaints on Reddit but still about US bank account transfers, not other routes. So I guess it may be specific to USA bank account transfers.
I send to Euro and other currency routes with no change in timing. I haven’t done US in a very long time.

Same here, Euro transfers still basically instant.

On the American front, has anyone tried contactless in America? I was over there last week and contactless didn’t work with Wise but it worked when I inserted the card but no PIN required.

FWIW, I had the same problem with my Natwest Visa CC when I was there earlier this year. It wasn’t consistent though, sometimes contactless would work. I didn’t work out any pattern to it.

Don’t know if it could be a US thing.

It is the American dream, they are a bit behind when it comes to payments.

I should have tried the Chase card which presumably meets US standards.

For those interested the white Eco card is back in stock.

On the delayed transfers issue, I sent my normal monthly pay over this week and Wise said it would take 3-4 business days but it ended up taking only a few minutes like it used to. In fact before the site even refreshed it said they money had been sent, though it took maybe 15 minutes to hit my NatWest account. Maybe because this time the amount was under $10k?

I’ve gone back to using Wise over Global Money. My last two USD to GBP transfers this month both arrived at Monzo within seconds.

Do you also find Wise exchange rates better over HSBC?

Not an exact science, but I’ve tried to get this as close to the rate at the same time as possible. This is actually a closer gap than I’ve seen on other days, HSBC is usually a tiny bit more expensive.

Thank you for that. It seems that USD to GBP rate is not that bad. However for EUR to GBP I always find it very bad
