What's the point in Coral Crew?

A serious question…

I know in the past (going back quite a few years now) they used to carry out more moderation tasks and what not - but since now that’s handled by Alan & the other super-helpful Admins, what’s the point?

Are we just keeping to bring some two-tier hierarchy to the forum that may actually be causing more harm than good on here or unintended favouritism towards some members?

Not to mention there are users that are Coral Crew, but haven’t posted in 9 months, or been seen for over a month?

I’m assuming this is level 4s that don’t have the Monzo logo?
The only one Ive seen is Peter wasn’t aware we had more.

I think @AlanDoe is working on reworking this btw as had a chat with him about this in the past.

You make a valid point Michael.

The Coral Crew aren’t an active part of how the Community operates any more. I’ve been discussion the potential of bringing in a similar dynamic for 2025 but at the moment there’s no need for that section.

Rework it to not exist - I was told it was being looked at in 2022. Nothing’s changed in the 30 months since.

It serves no purpose, get rid of it and Tier 4 users until a replacement is thought up then. Or make it so that level 4 is earnt by users.

Do away with this two tier user system that we have, where some members get preferential treatment vs others.

Used to be - until the community hit a point where there was tension about the role, and Monzo decided that only their staff should moderate the community.

Now it lingers…
