What happens during scheduled maintenance?


Every now and again Monzo, like all banks I think, go through scheduled maintenance which delays “bank transfers in and out of Monzo accounts” for a while.

So I was wondering what actually happens during these scheduled maintenances and are they regulatory requirements?

The screenshot you’ve included is from the 28th of November where we tested the failover between our Faster Payments datacentres :blush: This essentially allows us to check that if the connection drops on one of them for whatever reason, we can continue processing payments through the other with no disruption to customers!
