What are the plans for a near future in Ireland?

I have been using Monzo since March with the early access, I’m absolutely loving it, but after 2 months of the official launch, I haven’t seen any news about Monzo’s plans in Ireland. I feel that there are a lot of things to add in Ireland, such us credit cards, subscriptions plans, loans, investments… but I don’t see any news about their plans in the near future, or even in future years. Also, I feel that in Instagram, they have created a dedicated account for their launch in Spain, but I don’t see a dedicated one for Ireland, I could understand this if they would be offering the same products and perks to both countries, but everything I see in Monzo’s official account is for UK customers.

I would also like to have a web version to see my finances, sometimes I just want to use the bank in my laptop, and I think this is a feature already available for UK, but not yet for Ireland.

I really hope they announce things for Ireland, at least their intention, because I understand that this year will be mainly to settle up in the country, but I would like to know, and I think everyone would like to know the roadmap for Monzo in Ireland, at least an estimated or what do they expect to launch.

Thanks for reading!!

Hi Sergio,
Good point — I completely agree with you, and I’m also keen to see what’s coming next.
It’s true that Monzo is still quite new in Ireland, but I believe some great products will be rolled out over time.

I’ve been using it for about a month and a half and I’m really enjoying it so far. That said, there are still a few features missing for the Irish market. For example, things like payment receipts or more advanced features would be very useful.

Looking forward to seeing how Monzo develops here. :ireland: :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Oh yes, a web version would be much appreciated. It’s not always convenient to do banking from a mobile app, at least for me. I’d prefer to handle more serious matters on a laptop instead. I hope it’s coming soon.

You have close to zero chance of a web version.

Hey Sergio!

Us Irish Monzonauts are working away in the background on what’s coming, sit tight! As for the social media accounts, the @Monzo account is actually a UK and Ireland account, the reason there is a dedicated Spanish Instagram is because we felt the language barrier justified a dedicated presence there.

With the UK and Ireland channel, you’ve probably started to notice a bit of a shift in the type of content we are posting. It’s more evergreen and less location specific. Of course, we will still continue to spotlight activations or campaigns across both regions, but as Ireland gets off the ground, it may just seem like we aren’t as present (as we work on some very cool stuff!). Ireland is less than a year old, and Monzo has been around in the UK for quite a while, but don’t worry! I’m very passionate about ensuring the Emerald Isle is represented on socials! :ireland:
