We’ve published our Engineering Progression Framework

All week we’ll be sharing an insight into what it’s like to be an engineer here at Monzo!

First up, we’re sharing our Engineering Progression Framework! It’s a tool that all engineers and managers at Monzo can use to understand and advance their own development.

Here’s @chrisbond with more on why we’ve made it, and why we’ve made it public

Part of the reason we’re sharing it with the world is because we want to hear your feedback! Let us know what you think and what you’ve learned at your own organisations.

This is awesome! I’m loving the level of transparency this provides for everyone involved :ok_hand:.
It’s provides a clear way to see where engineers would start and where they’re heading, and also helps remove a lot of ambiguity and anxiety from engineers’ minds in terms of their skillset (imposter syndrome ) and career progression. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen such a framework, but it’s very reassuring to see. Go Monzo! :rocket:

Agree 100%! Great to see, and good work Monzo

I like that your JIRA site is called mondough!

Just came across this, and think it’s great. Would be interested in whether you plan to extend to ops / infrastructure / security engineers too?
