Aren’t they called rhinos
“Nice company you’ve got there. You wouldn’t want any bad word-of-mouth about it, would you?”
Blackmail/extortion scam, basically. ‘You give us money, we won’t try and harm your reputation’.
ISTR in the early days of Monzo there was an occasion where Tom said that Monzo had refused to pay money to someone who has threatened to write bad reviews otherwise. Can’t find more details right now. May delete this paragraph later if I still can’t turn up anything/am shown to be wrong.
Check his Twitter it was on there as well I think.
yeah, I do wonder if “extortion”(public opinion poisoning) is more prevalent now then it was due to the the growth of the “review world” we live in with Tripadvisor, steam reviews etc.
Anyone who needs to read someone else’s review of what is a FREE product, is an idiot.
Free or freemium?
At 4.5 at the moment so looking strong
I was at work and I am not allowed to use my phone due to GDPR!!
Is this even true?? ![]()
If their work involves sensitive information that could be compromised or stolen using mobile phones, then it seems reasonable the employer would restrict the use of them to comply with the regulations.
Lots of places do not allow phones or other personal devices in their offices. Depends on the circumstances.
It wouldn’t be for GDPR alone though it maybe in combination with other considerations.

Trustpilot recently updated their scoring system for all companies, so you’ll now see “half” stars around the place.
The upside is that for folks who had a high-but-not-five-star-high four star score, they get a better star score (that’s us atm). The bad news is that it’s brought quite a five five-star-ers down to 4.5 too.
Done, it should appear in the Help section early next week
Good timing

I’ve already left a review but hopefully it helps others share their experience to drown out all the negative foodbank / watchdog ones.
Thanks @Ordog, we’ll go through in a bit and share our response on some of the negative ones too.
You can now leave us a review directly from the app!
In the help section, you’ll find a new article called Leave us a review! - which will let you leave a Trustpilot review.
Thanks to @tbutz for the idea, and @alessiopiergiacomi for helping to make it happen
I’ve put 4 stars down in the past. I would however based on my current experience shift it down to 3 or even 2… Look on TP later if you want to know why.
I used to be a government worker (Today is my first day of unemployment in fact) and I know that in my workplace we weren’t supposed to be using our phones because of security concerns. We dealt with sensitive information like peoples health conditions, national insurance numbers etc. and all of that would be fairly easily pictured on a smart phone.
People of course still used their phones, and I am not aware that anyone ever did anything wrong, but it didn’t change the fact that they weren’t supposed to. I used my phone at my desk during breaks, but I made it clear I was on break, I turned the monitor off completely and shifted all paper (Though paper became less and less of a thing in latter years due to everything being uploaded to a repository system that was accessed on the PC) away from my device.
I’m sure there are places that enforce it very vigorously.
Good to see the TrustPilot score is on the up. There’s less of the dodgy looking “I’ve been scammed, monzo froze my account with 10,000 $ in there ones” and they seem to be more genuine now.
There is still the odd review in there that leaves you scratching your head
eg… https://uk.trustpilot.com/reviews/5e2abcc23c93ae0b2495faba
Still never been invited in app to leave one though
2 reviews Monzo, 3 for NatWest all accounts closed

looks to be dodgey if legacy banks doing it too
I’d just noticed that and was updating my reply!

Still not sure how it makes a bank racist either
