Travel Insurance Quotes

Hello

I’ve just booked a holiday to go to Mexico in March, and am looking for purchase some Travel Insurance now.
Has anyone got good suggestions of Companies who to get a quote from, where the cover is good but also not too expensive.

Go with some reputable and not the cheapest quote. recommend defaqto 5* Often you find the cheap quotes are awful to claim from. I’ve been with Aviva in the past and virgin money currently. Not had any issues.

Just use a comparison site - it’s much easier.

You’ve not explained what you want from your insurance so this way you can toggle options on/off as well as compare the differences between all of them

Also bare in mind that what might be cheap or good value for one person might not be for another.

We use Columbus Direct, and, while not the cheapest, they offer very good value.
Some nice little extra perks too

Taken from their website…

Plus, absolutely no excess (for a small extra premium)

Do watch out for your excesses. Some of the polices I’ve seen aren’t worth the paper hard drives (?) they’re written on because the excess makes putting in a claim close to pointless. If you’re paying for insurance then it’s worth paying a little extra to reduce your excess.

Agree with this point :point_up_2::point_up_2::point_up_2:

I got stung (literally) last year by jellyfish and required medical treatment. The excess cost about the same as the treatment.

Ouch so to speak :upside_down_face:

Ok, thankyou for the replies so far they are much appreciated.

I know I can easily use the price comparison sites, which lots do come in really too cheap and you don’t really know what you are getting or what type of service.

That is why I have put this question out to the Monzo community, so I can get some feedback of peoples own experiences with companies they have been with.

And with going to the community, there are some companies potentially I would not have tried before like Columbus which does look appealing and good at the moment.

Personally I can’t really help much more. I have an annual premium policy with HolidaySafe. Despite traveling a lot I’ve never had to claim so I can’t comment on that aspect. Also I’ve just checked the policy and it’s World excluding Mexico. I’m not actually sure why Mexico is either excluded or more expensive to add?

ok, thankyou all for the replies it has been most helpful.

I’ve ended going for Columbus Direct, and managed to get 20% the price by using a promo code so brought it down a good bit to where I was wanting to pay around with with some good extra’s if need to use them for somereason (hopefully not).
