“Top Up To” for Pots - Scheduled deposits that know when to stop

At the moment Scheduled pot deposits let you add a fixed amount each month. That’s useful and I use it on a lot of my pots to budget, but sometimes I don’t want to add another £X, I simply want the pot topped back up to £X.

For example, we have a ‘Food Pot’ with a monthly budget of £500:

  • If we spend all £500, Monzo adds £500 next month.
  • If we have £80 left after a snack-light month, Monzo adds £420.
  • If the Pot is already at £500 or more, nothing is added.

In other words, the schedule would maintain a target instead of depositing the same amount every month. The deposits could still be scheduled, and it could top up over a number of months - but the deposit stops once the goal is reached.

This would be handy for food, fuel, household expenses and bills that vary from month to month. Any money we don’t spend remains as next month’s buffer, but the Pot doesn’t turn into a savings account that you later have to tidy up. Just a thought! :light_bulb:
