4 weeks now without the promoted 55k new customers. Is Monzo going to start advertising again or reduce the 55k headline figure?
Probably the latter.
With the current stress the cops are under i cant see them going on another big push for a while yet
The Grafana stats indicate a slowdown trend - https://bankstats.joecarter.xyz/d/000000001/monzo-current-acc?refresh=5m&orgId=1 - which selfishly shows my prediction of 4M users on Xmas eve wonât likely occur. Big push needed to get through the recent negativity - this can happen - and ensure that Monzo will have 4M users before arrives.
Letâs 'ave it ;
I really doubt this slowdown is due to recent ânegativityâ - I also doubt the impact of any recent negative press that youâre alluding to.
Much more likely that Monzo are growing faster than theyâd like or had planned, so have toned down advertising to maintain quality of service.
Just my two cents.

Scrap that. My maths doesnât work. 29rh December.
I didnât post, imply or manoeuver-to the term âpressâ - so the statement I âalluded toâ simply doesnât apply. Happy to hear what your take on ânegative pressâ is though.
Sticking to facts and using them to push on in a positive manner is the key here - Iâm still gunning for 4M by Xmas eve - come on
âOnlyâ five thousand new accounts a day. The horror!
The number of open accounts is a great milestone but Iâd really love to see how many of the accounts are being used on a daily basis.
57% daily active is the latest stat Iâve seen in that regard
It says 40k nowâŚ
Is it just my sketchy phone or has the feed for this site broken: https://bankstats.joecarter.xyz/d/000000001/monzo-current-acc?refresh=5m&orgId=1
Working for me. The curve shows a slight slow-down of sign-ups, then a recent increasing trend. Which is good
