The Monzo of old is dead (?)

Oh wow, I didn’t know you could put the persistently snarky people on mute on here. That should make future browsing nicer

Victor Kiam who owned Remington. His wife bought him a shaver which he loved so much so he bought the company. He used to advertise on the TV stating this as his tagline

We use this guy as an example at work of the fact that just because you have a big company one day, it won’t always be that way

It didn’t help that he said his company Ratners sold sh*t. A good example of how not to promote your own Company.

A handful of people thinking a CEO of a company with 7 million customers should be posting on a forum to <100 people is not a goof.

I agree in that we should hear more from TS Anil in terms of live events, product launches etc in the same way you have with Tim Cook.

But that wasn’t what I got from the original point made which was that someone didn’t like that TS didn’t ever post on here. Why should he though? Isn’t that what you pay writers, marketers and @AlanDoe for?

I would like to see more of TS talking through new product launches sure but there’s a big difference between selling a product (which is what Steve Jobs did, what Tim Cook does) and selling a business-as-a-service to a consumer.

I kind of like that individual PMs tend to write blog posts or sometimes post here regarding product launches and features, rather than the CEO. They know more about it, it gives it a more genuine feel, and also it’s their work so they should be the ones who get to shout about it

Going off your user# and mine, Monzo gathered just over 200K of users from June 2016 to June 2017 - it must have started to really accelerate from that point!

That was the joecarter Grafana display, which pulled through the usernumber stats from Monzo (when it used to be available via API). It stopped updating a few months before Monzo then pulled the stat from the website (and probably killed the API access too)

It’s not live at all now - https://bankstats.joecarter.xyz/d/000000001/monzo-current-acc?refresh=5m&orgId=1

I’m #780924, the largest and therefore best number in this thread. Kneel before me.

Erm…

Oh I misread yours as in the 500ks, and didn’t see @MattN’s formidable entry.

Bum. I thought I was quoting yours :frowning: It’s been that sort of day so far…

I think it’s because @MattN’s looked big because of the commas. (There’s probably a tattoo joke in there somewhere…)
