The General Chitchat Thread

Up this morning for the annual stress of trying to buy next year’s Crucible snooker tickets. If I have a str-ke or heart attack it’ll be when I’m trying to make Barry Hearn a bit richer than he already is.

Then the drive to Sheffield for the match tonight. Lunch with mum tomorrow, and a visit to dad.

Then 2 days of just watching the Final. Bliss

The automated censorship here is ridiculous. I can’t use the word which describes a serious, life-threatening medical emergency occurring when blood flow to a part of the brain is cut off, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and nutrients.

Sounds amazing, enjoy.

Gutting, what shoes are they?

I had to sell some Asics Gel Nimbus only a month after buying them as I was getting lace bite and they were painful to run in after a few km

That’s annoying. Seen a lot of hype around the Vomero.

I’ve stuck to Puma recently. Decent prices and can usually pick up last years models for cheap, grip is great and no issues with fit/comfort for me.

Keep eyeing up other brands but end up sticking with Puma as I’m worried they’ll end up like the Asics and have to sell for a loss

Start at the gym. Then go on a run around the local area on an evening for as long as you can, then try and beat that time.

Just pickup something cheap from somewhere like Sports Direct to start with

I’ll have a gander, I mean I’ll tell my friend to have a gander…

I have a slightly dodgy right knee from an injury as a teenager so don’t want to aggravate that. But I find overly squishy shoes make me feel imbalanced and like I’m gonna fall over. Day-to-day I wear minimal/barefoot shoes.

Had these and they were great, not too squishy. Currently have the 3 and I’m not as much of a fan as I was of the 2.

Plenty of sites still have the 2 for really good prices as well.

Not a bad price either. Cheers!

I had been thinking of getting the Vivobarefoot running shoes. But would be worried about making my knee worse. Been using zero drop/barefoot training shoes for my lifting and they’ve been ace. Currently using the Vivo Motus Flex, Reebok Nano Zero’s and have a pair of Velites Minimal 1.0’s on the way :face_with_peeking_eye:

Don’t go to Sports Direct. They’ll push you to what makes commission.

Go to a proper running shop and have your gait analysed. It’ll make the world of difference.

Then get some good socks. Don’t wear the same ones you wear to work!

I wasn’t suggesting to take advice/recommendations from the staff there

Coop this morning. 2 drinks for £3.35.

One wasn’t available so charged me the full amount for the one drink instead of half of the offer price.

Easily my favourite thing to cook and eat :pinched_fingers:t3:

What’s yours?

The few times I cook, it is always to do with pork.

Do you have a speciality? I don’t use much pork outside of the breakfast so any suggestions would be welcome :folded_hands:t3:
