Snoop App (New Open Banking Aggregator)

Hi @andrew_fishy

We’re going to be working to extend our Monzo functionality so you can see Pots, as well as your core current account. That requires us to do some bespoke development on top of the Open Banking API but we’re very keen to do it and it’s on our workstack.

There’s a thread on ‘Snoop Space’ about it too https://space.snoop.app/t/monzo-pots/420/3

Hi @o99

Each of those individual Snoops has a link to the support available from your specific current account, where the bank publishes that information.

That’s why we chose to do 1 Snoop per account – so customers could always have that available. We did think about limiting it so we’d only serve one Snoop, but then we’d have to choose which of your banks to serve it for – and given it’s easy to quickly dismiss a Snoop using the (x) we decided to serve all of them.

Over the slightly longer-term, we’d want to dynamically create 1 Snoop with your 5 links within it.

As ever, many thanks for the feedback.

@AntonyS I know this isn’t really a real issue, but it really bugs me how poor the quality of your logo is on the launch/splash screen on iOS. I know it doesn’t affect use of the app at all, but as it hangs on the screen for a while it’s a bit irritating if you care about that sort of thing. iPhone XR

Hi @Addzy

We definitely care about things like that. It only seems to be like that on some of the Apple phones but we’ll definitely get it sorted.

Oh sorry, poor wording, I didn’t mean you guys in-particularly, some people will probably look at my comment and think who really cares about that.

But good to know  Thanks!

Looks cool, how is it different to Emma?

AMEX is finally here on Snoop! I’m loving how quickly they’re adding things to the app.

Very happy about this, now only if they supported Marcus (or the ability to manually add accounts) I’d be all over it.

Agreed - Marcus is the only thing left for me.

Unfortunately given Marcus doesn’t need to comply with the Open Banking APIs, and I don’t think I would use methods based on screen scraping, I’ve pretty much accepted I’ll just need to get used to it =/

The same is true for me. However with both Emma & Moneyhub you can manually add accounts and update the balance, as I only pay into Marcus once a month and rarely touch it, I’d rather do that and have it displayed in the app and balance my finances accordingly.

Ah I see what you mean now - yes that would be useful actually! Same here - transfers in and out of Marcus are very infrequent.

I’m liking that the Snoop transaction list identifies which bank/card each transaction belongs too. Not all aggregators do this (many require you to click on the transaction for that info). Very useful for those of us who spend via multiple accounts :+1:

Just saw this thread and can now see that AMEX is possible! Hurrah! (Hopefully Monzo’s open banking will allow it soon too)

One problem with all my snoops at the moment - it’s treating all my pot transfers as “the biggest spend this month” - it’s a pain that from both my connect accounts, and the pots - it doesn’t seem to auto determine internal transfers.

Also, I can’t see any of my pot balances in here - just wondered if that is expected behaviour?

I don’t see Monzo pots in my Snoop account.

Nope, me neither - but I prefer it that way. R-

Yep I raised this over on the Snoop community forum and they responded that they’re prioritising the remaining account connections first - which seems fair enough!

I really like Snoop and have realised for me a joint account main customer that it works better than Monzo Plus and is of course free! I do think the offers are relevant to me (unlike Plus) if only Monzo owned Snoop and incorporated it into Plus with joint account support…

Snoop are now offering a £5 Amazon voucher for referrals (up to 5) for those that weren’t already aware!

We are indeed Matt!

Just use the ‘Invite Friends to Snoop’ option in the settings menu inside Snoop. Full terms are here https://snoop.app/terms/recommend-snoop/

The radio advert for Snoop is one of the most annoying things I have ever heard in my life, app is now uninstalled. Please If anyone from Snoop is here, please change the advert! I hear it so many times a day and it drives me mad, In my opinion it doesn’t even really explain what you do
