Took me a while to find it but the swipe is being kept for future feed item functions. The post was replying to swipe for balance requests. This was almost a year ago though

I can give a bit more of info. There are a few reasons why we don’t want to do that… We want to reserve swipe to left for future quick actions around a feed item. Ideally we don’t like hiding stuff away that only power-users can discover. We don’t want balances on the right side of the feed because they mess (aka cognitive friction) with the transaction amounts.
