Santander Chat ♨️

I opened a savings account and wasn’t visible until next day. This was over a weekend on a Saturday night so plausible delays.

I applied for a credit card. Received a card already… Don’t know how to check/activate it online or in app as shows current account only…

Totally disappeared from the app

Worked fine for me yesterday and today!

Have no idea how to sort credit card issue…
Tried chatting…

k
Tried phone… 45minutes

Tried branch…
No one can help. So unable to access credit card information. Can use it… but no ways to check balance, statements…

Go into branch. Live chat can also do it, I had this recently and it was a chore but managed to resolve it.

Profiles only merge over a weekend, not over night.

Was there as well. They booked me in for next Saturday 13/07 :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Yikes. I just rocked up to mine. They did say Tuesday and Wednesday here get rammed.

I’ve just discovered that you can blur your balances by double tapping the Santander logo in the app.

I think it highlighted this on first install or something.

Easily forgotten.

That’s wild. I’ve always been answered within a few minutes. Wonder what happened.

Today (Saturday) around 9.30am was alright…few minutes. And they were more helpful. They opened a credit card with wrong DOB, don’t know how this happened. Went to a branch today without booking… scanned my passport and asked to wait 24-48 hours… will see

Decided to change my Edge Grad (which was that for a few hours in the end) to the standard Edge account. Can actually make money from it even with the fee and I’m happy to continue to use Santander as my main account.

If I am getting an income increase this year (a significant one), when would I apply for a credit card based on this increase? When I get the first payment? When I get proof that I will be paid this higher amount?

Sometimes takes a few months for the bank to understand if the income is regular, so a few months.

If it’s a pre eligibility check you can try any time; though some may tell you to wait 30 days (or have a written behind the scene rule to be auto rejected within 30 days).

Just try, Santander is soft search first and you can do it every 30 days. It will just tell you to wait X days if you try before then.

They would accept it based on the eligability checker (I was pre-approved). Guessing I should just wait until I can 100% prove I will get this income before actually applying?

I’d say that would be the best approach. I’ve had Amex and NatWest ask for payslips before.

Good to know I would be accepted though, just need to wait a bit longer for now.
