Ah that one! Not a fan favourite!
Apologies, just had an email about it.
Ulster is unfortunately heading down to 4.75% from 14th Oct.
Corporate greed will always prevail.
Which rate is falling by more than 0.25%?
Chase has tracked the base rate. So the only Natwest Group one is that single outlier Ulster account, and it’ll stay ahead of the base rate until October…
I don’t think there’s really much of a case that we’re being stung disproportionately here, unlike Santander with their ‘fixed term but not fixed rate’ rubbish, when they hadn’t even waited for the bank to cut their rate (which they were completely entitled to do, just left a bitter taste).
So what’s with Resolve accounts not being able to make a payment if under 16… surely that’s the whole point of money management.
Again that’s daft when nearest one is 30/40 minutes drive away.
Must be something to control that, like being able to pay parents that opened the account with them.
Trying to find a way for my son to transfer monies back if needed. Workarounds on a plate except cash or branch.
It’s your son’s account, not yours. (That’s an important distinction between the Resolve and Rooster offerings!)
I understand that but with money management comes “Make a payment” I didn’t mean control the account but control who they can make a payment too, if they are restricting not being able to make a payment this is a core function of “his” bank account
For example;
Child will earn monies by doing chores
Child receives monies at end of month
Works out what is needed to be paid ie we pay Xbox and Phone contract so he then pays us back via bank transfer, this shows he’s earnt the money, managed it in his account, learnt what he needs to do to earn more, responsibility of making a payment on time.
I guess the solution is “get parents added as payees”.
It still does not for me
And is that with a non-silly Sort Code?
Silly sort code here. I also have a non silly sort code.
I’m waiting for a resolution to my complaint about it all and will CASS out the silly one to Chase possibly.
Then see how we get on as they have no excuses.
I still don’t think I’m missing out by not having the Travel Account visible but now wondering if there’s anything else that I might (not) be missing
Oh for sure. It’s principle. I’ll never use it.
The terms are XYZ, I have XYZ. Where is it.
