Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Chat

I forgot to mention lin Feb that there were some changes to both NatWest and RBS Premier - the following mails came out with the heading ‘We’re improving your service’

I want the colourful chequebook :sob::sob:

The B&W one isn’t even centred, Doesn’t say ‘Bankers’ nor have the ‘Your attention is drawn to the important notes inside’, the notes inside are blue and doesn’t have the yellow C&Co branding pattern, it’s just blue lines. Even the 1 Fleet Street is absent, mine says Manchester.

Would it be possible that different Chequebook are sent depending on how you order it? I asked a live agent to do it, maybe if you order yourself though online banking ‘Order a Chequebook’ you get a different one?

As soon as I get my Drummonds Card I will manually order a chequebook in online banking to conform my hypothesis.

Yes I was thinking of this.

Now that you mention it, I should focus on getting my driving licence :joy:

Personally, I’d think not having a single point of contact was not an improvement. Of course they wouldn’t say that in the email though. Maybe it’d be good if you have a single POC, and then if they weren’t available you get put through to another one. Do they allow things to be done by email or not now there isn’t a specific contact please?

Quick question - Am I still meant to have a photo of a random child on my debit card in the app? It doesn’t even have the new purple branding.

It’ll change in a few days once your card is ordered.

I’ve had this for nearly a month

Oh. Have you got the card?

Yep. Used in multiple times, both online and in-store.

Hopefully, they decide to change this at some point, but who knows. Maybe they aren’t planning on keeping people with Visa for very long considering the shortish expiry date, so might not see the point of changing it?

I too still have this card image, and it’s been there for a few months.

Such a shame that Drummonds and child & co don’t work with the Apple wallet integration

I disconnected my RBS account and went through the process again, which allowed me to select both accounts but it still shows nothing and doesn’t give me the option to connect when I go into the Child & Co card.

I’m on 17.5 beta but I’m sure it doesn’t matter either. I removed the Child & Co card and re-added but still the same. It’s not a massive issue but just strange that the standard RBS card has it when they’re essentially the same cards just with a different image.

I only have Drummonds and child & co so unfortunately no workaround for me!!

If you have a standard RBS account as well as the Child&Co or Drummonds it lets you access all your accounts via the Apple Payment Service, but unfortunately it doesn’t show in the wallet despite it being switched on for each account in settings.

I have an RBS credit card and can’t get the Drummond and Child balances to show. I’ve turned them on the settings but it doesn’t work. In fact my credit card balance doesn’t show properly either: it just shows “available balance” as £0. :smiling_face_with_tear:

How do you do this? I’ve get the debit and credit cards showing in my wallet but is there something extra I need to do in order to access the Apple payment service?

You go in via the prompt in the wallet app for the standard purple RBS account card, then when it takes you to the RBS app it should show you all your accounts that can be linked.

However when it throws you back into the wallet app it asks you to select the account the card is associated with because of the multiple accounts, you do this, then it shows for the standard purple RBS account, but there is then no prompt for the Child & Co or Drummonds account, despite both accounts showing in settings of the wallet app.

I guess they’ve just not switched it on for these types of accounts to get the prompt.
