I don’t root my Android device as like to still able to use most apps and my device is running nougat.
I wonder how technically informed you are about such devices. I have a rooted device which was one brands top model smart phone 3 years ago. The manufacturer promptly dropped firmware support during the second year of the device and the Android Security Patch level remained stuck at a date in 2014. The software OS I am running can be updated on a daily bases OTA and the ASP level is 1 April 2017. At least one High Street (Legacy) Bank app doesn’t detect the device is rooted and runs perfectly. My choice not to use it and why I don’t have Monzo installed on it, is down to the near imposibility of keeping Goggles grubby paws out of things. I know Google store card information on their servers, whereas Apple don’t not even with Apple Pay. Those who root their devices are on the whole better informed than the average jo public.
