Perplexity is still there.
It’s not on the new list of subscriptions on the website

Fair enough - still showing on my app, but maybe they’ve changed for new subscribers.
Just got the email for 3 months free ChatGPT Go on my Standard plan. Haven’t read the t&c yet (will probably get ChatGPT to read them for me), but is there any trick that I should know when I cancel after 3 months, or is it just a straightforward cancellation ?
(Just tried to click on the OpenAI Offer T&Cs link in the email, and it’s a 404/dead link…)
As a matter of interest, I’m keen to know what Chat GPT says when you ask.
For completeness sake, ask a rival AI as well.
I’ve just taken out the 12 month ChatGPT Go subscription via my Metal plan and ChatGPT said during the activation process that it would revert to free ChatGPT after 12 months. I also had to give them card details during the upgrade but it looks like they won’t be used.
I wish we copied that one country that made it illegal to ask for cards for free trials and also required companies to ask you every 12 months if you wanted to extend a contract.
What country would that be?
Looks like I’m wrong on the ‘illegal to ask for cards for free trials’. I thought it was Israel for both, but only the latter exists. I think the former should be standard though.
Seems that the 12 month renewal thing is a bit more nuanced than a blanket 12 months is banned, but under Israeli law that contracts that are longer than 12 months are generally restricted.
New rules are coming into force in Spring 2027
An exemption for digital services is interesting… I’m not too sure about this, but isn’t that likely to exempt most of the targets of unwanted subscription clearing.
An improvement, but it would have been better to seek active consent to renew a 12 month contract.

Couldn’t see a previous post about this (I may not have gone back far enough) https://www.revolut.com/payday-draw/
Says no longer running.
Straightforward cancellations, including online exits for online sign ups
This drives me nuts. The NYT used to make you call up to cancel. Not sure if The Times still do this too as I never resubbed.
Recently had to cancel my Cineworld renewal, which also involved online forms and email.
It’s funny how they don’t make you jump through these hoops to sign up.
Yes, you have to phone them, along with some other papers. It’s a pain but often leads to a chunky discount.
Yeah. They offered me a discount when I tried to cancel. But I was so annoyed at having to call that I refused on principle and made sure they knew the reason.
