Revolut chat

I used to pay my RBS card in full every month, one month I could only pay half and paid the rest off the following month. I received a letter advising me to pay more than the minimum…

They’re not meant to do that but I find it funny. It’s meant to be “see you’re paying less to the balance than you are in interest for a prolonged period” before doing anything extra.

31st May - Upgraded to metal and ordered Black metal card

5th June - got curious and upgraded to Ultra by accident, refunded my £14.99 but charged me £45

Went to downgrade to Standard and it refunded the £45

Another metal card for free

Still no bank account switch here,

The AI told me that for the people that are left (like you and I) the transition will begin to roll out in mid June over 3 months.

Bit frustrating as, as far as I can see, Revolut Mobile is only available to bank account holders so I’m not able to take advantage of the early discount.

Mobile is available to those who signed the waitlist, I’ve had the option for months and currently trialling it.

My account is still EMI.

Oh I don’t even remember a waitlist, I must have missed out then

Did replace my watch :watch: battery yesterday at Timpsons in Exeter :united_kingdom:
Revolut did congratulate me on arrival to USA :united_states::sweat_smile:

I only stepped out in the city centre

That’s surely got to be an error when the terminal was setup, someone accidentally clicked on United States and not United Kingdom from a dropdown menu

Also, £25 for a watch battery!? :exploding_head:

Yeah, agree. But with lifetime guarantee, replacement free next time

Revolut are really, really pushing the Graham Norton ads on the Irish channels here. Every ad break at the moment.

Maybe Monzo are giving them a run for their money

I did this in 2019. They wanted £12 for the battery but with guarantee I paid £25. I change batteries twice a year now.

It’s like us here, when something shiny new opens up a lot of us hop to it, realise it’s not as good and flee back to where we came from :joy:

The monzo activity will die down when they realise no QR pay or credit options available. (In Ireland)

I joined the waitlist the day it opened and its still not available to me.

And according to the AI its still been rolled out to the waitlist.. as well as everyone else, so rather than make available to everyone they done have a clue..

Not true. There was a waitlist, I don’t have a ‘bank account’ yet but I do indeed have the option for Revolut Mobile.

Revolut also conglatulates me on my arrival to China every week or two.

Probably more like Revolut has expanded to the point of diminishing returns in the UK market and is now a major banking player in other large/developing European markets.

I’m not joking in the slightest - I’ve not met a European abroad who doesn’t know what Revolut is and that doesn’t have an account. They’re nearing getting a Greek IBAN as well and have noticed that their card transactions are up a lot as well. It seems the developing markets with less competitive fee structures paired with Europeans being more integrated has really resulted in them flourishing after they’ve been introducing local IBAN to customers.

Imagine they’re trying to crack the major markets they’re not already doing as well in next.

What’s QR pay? Is that big in Ireland?

Article today in the Observer on Revolut trying to move into the HNW area (https://observer.co.uk/news/business/article/revolut-turns-sights-on-newly-rich-private-clients) article points out that HNW expect personal contact, and that this might be an announcement just to juice the IPO

I expect they will want more than an AI chatbot. Or in my case the other day, someone who insisted they were human but wrote a lot like an AI chatbot. Maybe when you type Live agent now, either - a) The chatbot lies to you and tells you it is human or b) The human just copies / pastes the responses the chatbot would have given you anyway :joy:

I wonder if the new in-app calling is the same. You get to talk to someone, but get the same AI style responses

Pleasantly surprised that some of the merchant data logos I suggested have been updated!

Wish Monzo would pull their finger out too.
