I have a freelance editorial gig from the US. The company will be paying me in USD. With the new partnership with TransferWise, will I still be kicked up the bum with GBP conversion fees like PayPal?
You can’t yet receive USD directly into your Monzo account but they are working on it and here is the blog post about their plan…
In the mean time I would say use Transferwise Borderless account to receive USD payments and then convert them into GBP of couse there will be conversion fee. Another option is to open a Fineco Bank Account they offer accounts in 4 currencies GBP, USD, EUR and CHF. I think they don’t charge any fees to convert but transfers can take a few days.
