Pretty easy for a bank to link I would imagine, especially one like Monzo. It just needs them to have the will to do it, oh and maybe a few spare staff to work on it

As far as I understand it, the IFTTT integration is a vestigial, mostly unsupported piece of code that was basically a proof of concept by one of the founding members of staff (moved over from Starling) called SimonVC, basically to make the point that it would be nice to have programmable money. Sadly he’s gone, and this both never made it into the core app, and neither did anyone else formally take on ownership of it. So I doubt that any bank is rushing to do an integration there…
Still, it’s nice that it exists.
