This was liked by Paramount+ UK so it does seem like it will be a channel on Apple TV.

I think somebody mentioned Paramount own or have some link to Channel 5?

Well coincidentally I just switched to Channel 5 and they advertised the new Halo series is premiering on there on Wednesday at 10/10:30.

:eyes:

EDIT: I rewinded to get the pic

Spoiler alert.

It’s a good watch

Paramount Networks UK and Australia (the name of the subsidiary according to Wikipedia) bought Channel 5 a few years ago, hence the Halo advert being on Channel 5 like that.

I did wonder if they were going to take adventage of the fact Paramount own Channel 5. Its a way to push their shows a bit more to a wider audience. Obviously, C5 doesnt have the biggest audience, but its better than nothing and is still pretty decent at times.

Yep - although Channel 5 is now in a division within the Paramount Group called ‘Paramount Global’ which covers all their international channels.

Funnily enough - another company owned by Paramount is the Australian producers of Neighbours.

I don’t wanna pay for it on Apple TV tho lol

Strange New Worlds is also showing up now when you search in Apple TV.

If you click the ‘Open in’ option, it’s currently saying Amazon Prime - probably because Paramount+ will be available through Prime as well.

I still dont see myself subscribing to it at launch. There doesnt seem to be too much that interests me right now, and some of the shows that do are streaming weekly and they arent the type of shows i would watch weekly so ill just wait it out for now.

I’ll subscribe long enough to catch up with Star Trek then likely ditch it… nothing else really grabs me.

Still slightly annoyed at them for not dropping the episodes of Strange New Worlds that have already aired in the US on the UK version. It is obviously a way for them to try to get people to subscribe for longer

Same thing Disney+ did with the mandalorian.

I expect it works pretty well.

I understand why they do it. It will help them keep the subscribers for longer. In general, i do prefer weekly releases for this type of show as the online discussion isnt missed out. Things like Wandavision would have had its impact ruined if they released it all in one go.

Im slightly less sympathetic towards Star Trek though as they could have used this as a chance to allign more countries up. You are now going to get discussions on places like twitter about completely different, but still new (new to that country) episodes at the same time which doesnt seem the best idea. The Mandalorian finished months before in the US compared with the UK so any online discussion wasnt really going to get mixed up.

But just to be clear, im not too bothered. Im used to delays between US and UK releases considering they still exist for many shows made by companies without a streaming service here yet. Im also not that into Star Trek so even less bothered haha

I want to watch The Offer and the new Beavis and Butthead movie, and they both seem to be on Paramount+ so I’ll definitely be grabbing a trial.
