Pancake Day

The most important day of the year so far is almost upon us.

So are you savoury, sweet or both :eyes:

I’m thinking of doing both, a nice dry seasoned mince and cheese in-between layers of pancakes.

Can’t decide on the sweet version, may just stick to the traditional sugar and lemon juice.

I’m gonna buy some biscuit paste I think, have that melted on pancakes, just been looking online to get inspiration.

I like to lay out all the toppings. golden and maple syrup, chocolate spread, bananas, sugar, lemon, butter, some ice cream and let everyone help themselves. I’ll probably have a sugar and lemon, a golden syrup one, and a banana and choclate spread one with a bit of ice cream on top :cook::kiss:

This takes me back to the time I was peer pressured into putting both butter and jam together, because apparently that’s the normal way to do jam sandwiches!? They’re each nice on their own. But together? Yuck.

cant beat proper scottish pancakes dripping with butter and eaten straight from the griddle lol

Gonna start with lemon, butter, and sugar. Then move onto Nutella and bananas. Maybe finish with some maple syrup.

Depends on the style of pancake.

Thin pancakes, it’s sugar and lemon.

Thicker (buttermilk) pancakes - butter, maple syrup.

Nice selection, I’ve got a beef Ragu with bacon simmering away at the moment, just reducing it ready for tonight.

You’ve given me an idea with eggs, may fry a couple to put on top of my pancake lasagna :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I just did a simple lemon & sugar combo, took me a few tries to get the pancakes to cook but I got it down :smiley:

Haven’t had any sweet ones, I’m too stuffed after making the savoury ones. I think I’d just spew everywhere if I shoveled anything else into me tonight.

I agree, but I also feel it a sort of sin to cook an American style pancake in pancake day.

Other days of the year I’m buttermilk all the way

I didn’t get a chance to get a photo of my thin pancakes today, they were too good, lemon curd goes surprisingly well with them
