Our new advert 📺 👀 🍿

No ruling on it yet. I keep checking every week.

Which is odd, because rulings are now happening for complaints made about tv adverts in June and July, whilst this one was made in May.

Did you ever hear back from the ASA @anon3933091?

They haven’t stopped laughing at him yet.

Thought it was a stone cold slam dunk as he’s got a 100% record with the ASA

That business advert is good, until it says £5pm at the end.

OnlyBanks is a better way to spend your money, than what a lot of the population who I come into contact with blow it all on, to be fair :-).

We should find out either way. Rulings get published even when complaints aren’t upheld.

It’s just odd that it’s taking so long, and I’m not sure what to make of that. Perhaps they’re working to informally resolve it? Don’t think I’ve ever had an ASA complaint of mine take this long though.

Newp.

 time to hang up my coat… things have changed

The advert was just played during tonight’s episode of The Masked Singer. First time seeing it since the initial campaign.

Still has the alleged subliminal component that was reported to the ASA several months ago, so that presumably went nowhere.

Did we ever see an ASA ruling from that supposed complaint?

I don’t think we ever will. Having complained to the ASA myself, they won’t investigate every complaint, only where they deem there would be a benefit. Unless the complainant was asked for further information within 14 days of making the complaint, it was put in the round file by the ASA.

Nope.

Can you consciously see a subliminal message? I thought they went into the subconscious (see below).

AI overview states

Subliminal messages are words or images that are presented so quickly that they are below the threshold of conscious awareness.

I saw the ad last night in the cinema before watching Wicked at Everyman Canary Wharf.

Probably a good time to push it when people are looking at their finances in the New Year (or more cynically, to boost customer numbers ahead of their financial year end by late Feb)

I think I heard the ad earlier, possibly a Netflix ad during a show?

Was so out of it I couldn’t be arsed to turn over and see, was napping on the sofa.
