To clarify what’s happening here, as I said in September we are actively looking at how we might allow customers to open multiple Instant Access Savings Pots. It’s something we were considering and we definitely heard your feedback in that thread about how important this is.
What some of you are seeing is an experiment we’re currently running with a limited group of customers to begin with to learn more about offering multiple interest-earning Pots.
Customers are included in the experiment at random so it won’t be possible to add you on request as we need to make sure the results are robust.
For now this is just an experiment, but we’ll keep you in the loop as we work on this.
To address a few of the comments in the thread about the Plus and Premium Instant Access Savings benefit:
- The rate for regular Monzo current accounts is 4.10% AER (variable) whereas Plus and Premium customers get an interest rate of 4.60% AER (variable).
- The Plus and Premium rate applies to Personal Instant Access Savings Pots and the Safety Net Pot.
