There seems to be an area between the traditional grill area and the traditional bumper area that could house a LED strip which could be programmed to display set sequences - like foglights, enhanced inicators or (going off that image which shows a hint of ‘red’) other effects aka KITT’s cylon scanner…
Not a lidar by any means, which appears to be under the bumper area - but a visual gimmick possibly?
The more I look at some angles I think “nope” and the more I look at other angles I think “genius”
Overall, this is an instant classic winner. Fast forward 50 years - ’ do you remember the OG Cybertruck? What a truck that was!’

I’m only vaguely aware of the F-150, not living in Texas and all, but through comparison it makes the Cybertruck look a look larger than I had imagined from initial footage
A dual/tri-motor EV has so much instant torque available to basically overwhelm any ICE vehicle in the first few seconds. And by that time, it’s game over.

Why isn’t the F-150 in 4 wheel drive though?
There is no question that an EV has the ability to produce more torque, but why does it have to be designed to look like utter garbage.

Just looked at the specs, there isn’t a four wheel drive version from what I can see, just all wheel drive that can’t be right
Would it not be software controlled, depending on terrain and/or user preference?
There’s ‘Ludicrous Mode’ for the S/X for personal preference.
If dual motor, there’ll be software/personal bias selection between rear/front surely.
If tri-motor, there’ll be… the same as the above plus more power to the rear. And don’t call me Shirley.

A center diff lock is essential for off road and the diff locks on front and rear axles
Not sure I get the lock-on/lock-off reference there. Maybe I’m misunderstanding. Full differential control on 4WD vehicles provides adjustable bias (front-to-rear-and-back) to meet all conditions.
If the 2/3 motors used by the Cybertruck are software controlled, they’ll be restricted/released at any level as required automatically - or - manually just as a mechanical drivetrain can be set-up to work?

One of those (sad for many) life-changing experiences; Fitting a LSD (Limited-Slip-Diff) along with a pull-on handbrake (no locking) to my Mk2 Escort for road rallying - NW England - 1985, taking her out for a spin and thinking “what the f___” Game changer. Corners dissolved. Let’s not mention the brake-light-cut-out-switch…
What is available 35 years later is technologically astonishing. But then again, from a driving aspect maybe not.
I’m assuming the dual motor model has a motor on each axle like the model S, driving each one independently. A centre diff is for distributing the torque from one engine to two axles. Software will be doing the diff’s job.
You kind of need to throw a bunch of what you know about AWD/4WD out of the window when you start using multiple motors.
