Itāll be staff that are testing the cards, maybe some investors too.
I didnāt see this article, Iāll have to give it a read. Iām looking forward to these paid accounts as Iāve been with Monzo for years and Iām wanting for a few things to be truly happy with my account:
A metal card
Custom categories
Virtual/Disposable Cards
Travel & mobile insurance
Unlimited ATM withdrawals abroad
From what Iāve read through the forums weāre likely to be seeing all these features from the paid accounts so I hope we can get our hands on them soon!
I tried Triodos before Monzo. Unfortunately the app, physical security device, website etc. weāre just too clunky and hard to use. Unless theyāve seriously upped their game in that area thereās no way Iād leave Monzo to go back to them.
They wonāt provide their app outside of the Google Play Store (which I donāt have) so I canāt use it. Using their wee security device is like stepping back in time after Monzoās magic links. The web interface is, like you say, clunky (although to be fair far from the worst Iāve used, looking at you Nationwide).
But turns out I donāt care, the ethics matter more. Thought that Iād get the best of both worlds with Monzo but you live and learn.
It points out that Monzo heavily promoted their ethics early on? Triodos are living up to the ethics they promote, while Monzo has quietly forgotten about them.
I understand, I think I am looking at it from a different point of view to you. To me, what I am seeing is good marketing, good product and good HR practices. Did some of them lean towards good ethics? 100% yes. But that doesnāt mean they were designed because of good ethics.
