Hmm… I have savings account for my 12 years old daughter. Received this letter today…
having read the terms, that seems about right - it does say there’s some circumstances where they can’t pay directly into your account so they’ll send a cheque.
Reopened Nationwide so they have somewhere to pay my free £50 (already checked I’m eligible)
No hard search despite saying they would at the final stage of the application.
Now that’s an effective bit of customer acquisition from them!
Opened a Flex Saver too as I reckon by paying in £100 before the end of March I can qualify for Fairer Share (I CASSed an account in during Jan).
Don’t forget that kids can get this payout too. FlexOne used once in March and £100 in savings could bring them £100 too.
Yep mine should both be eligible.
No cover in NI or the Scottish Islands either if my reading of it is right.
Sounds like it might be time to move to Vrgin, or least read the small print… Packaged Bank Account - Club M Account | Virgin Money UK
Is this part of their devious plan to have us all migrate ourselves from the Nationwide computer system to the Vrgin one? Thus far, I’ve moved my cash ISA, regular saver, and mortgage. Just leaves FlexPlus to go to Club M, and the house insurance!
PS Forgot… migrated the credit card too!
Are you not allowed to say V*rgin anymore?
Edit: actual lol. @AlanDoe can we please have an explanation as to what is going on?
Interestingly they still say European cover on their website
This is getting silly now.
You might say it’s v1rgin on the ridiculous.
Even more so on the Vrgin chat thread
PS Worked two days ago, not now.
Clearly, Nationwide has hacked the forum and started the elimination of the Vrgin brand here
lol - must be some kind of automated banned words directory, don’t see the mods having added that to it manually on a financial forum. Perhaps Nationwide manages the directory
I think that leaves Vrgin, Co-op and Monzo as the only banks to include EU breakdown cover.
