I’m not sure if this question has been asked before, I tried to use the search but I couldn’t find an answer to my question.
I had my current account open in July, during the preview and my card, instead of my name, has words Monzo Bank.
I remember that one on the Monzo staff said they would have replaced the cards once the current accounts were officially rolled out.
I was wondering if there is any news about it. My girlfriend received her current account in December and have her name on it.
It was decided they didn’t need auotmatically replaced, but you can request a replacement via the in-app chat or by pressing ‘Freeze’ then a ‘Replace’ option comes up in the app (on iOS, might be different on Android).
We originally thought we’d need to replace cards provided during the Current Account Preview, but that turned out not to be the case. You’ll still be able to continue using your existing card and it doesn’t function any differently than our newer cards with names printed on them
That said, if you order a replacement in-app, your new card will be printed with your name on it
True! Some merchants will be a bit fussy about not having your name shown on the card; as far as I’m aware hotels can be a culprit for this kind of thing.
There’s no harm in ordering a replacement to be on the safe side
