Thanks as always for the update (that there will be no update but stillā¦!)
I had a Renault Zoe for about a year and then an Hyundai Ionic - I had a free rapid charge down the road from me. I went back to Diesel for now - what I saved in cash I lost in time and I once missed the only charger in between me and Devon which is on Polar and had to beg someone for a plug. They have since removed this charger anyway so now going from my part of the world to Devon is impossible unless itās a top of the range car with 250+ miles and some reserve
So I donāt blame you
Until the make a decent electric pick up I have to stay with diesel
Not long to wait, but it wonāt be cheap;
Should put a caveat in that I despise Elon Musk and donāt wish to give them any money
Rivian has more potential but will wait and see when it gets released.
This could be a great partner scheme - https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/vitality-health-flexes-its-muscles-with-banking-push-for-people-with-fit-finances-mmptrxzsk
Monzo [plus/premium] account with optional Vitality Life/Health insurance which could pay the monthly fee depending on your activity levels (similar to their Apple watch / Amazon prime offers)?

Essentially - they donāt intend to be a regulated bank in the UK, but plan to offer banking products through tie-up with lenders; their model being to incentivise active behaviour.
With the point being better overdrafts for runners for example? Or just cheaper health insurance?
The way they run their apple watch / amazon prime offer is that if you get their health/life insurance plans and achieve the target # of steps/ time of exercise per month, Vitality would pay off the monthly cost of the watch/prime subscription. This is a variable DD - so if you hit only 50% of target, they subsidise 50%. So they could either subsidize the monthly Monzo plus cost or offer cheaper premium if you buy it as part of the Monzo packageā¦ different models to explore?
Ah right, thatās really neat. I like that idea a lot
Nothing groundbreaking in this MoneyWeek article, but it does explain why packaged accounts are so important to banks - and also why getting them right is such a challenge.

Things like cinema or food discounts are mostly meaningless for me as I already have those from bunch of other services and rarely (never) use them.
Iād only consider Monzo plus if they offered something that would add value to me. Cashback, interest rate on the money in Monzo account etc.
Monthly vs annual billing: both should be supported. Some people prefer to pay monthly but others prefer to pay in a lump sum for a year so they can better budget their remaining funds.
Somebody mentioned Monzo merchandise, please no, that is silly. Monzo plus should have a broad appeal, not be something only for fanboys. Majority of normal users who are not investors / fans donāt care about āswagā.
I usually buy a coffee twice Monday-Friday so some coffee shop related perk would be nice but then again Iām not sure if this is not just specific to me and whether other people would consider it pointless.
Subscriptions such as Spotify / Netflix etc are interesting but not sure they can be fitted into Monzo Plus given the price point.
To extend on this, very often people from Northern Ireland are forgotten about, if an offer for 10% off a shop at Morrisons is given then that means its worthless to people like me because there are no stores here. Thereās a lot more examples to that, down to insurance products exempting NI as a place where it operates.
I guess I am posting this at just the wrong time as another update thread is due, but I did want to expand on that point.
Also Pretā¦ not a thing in NI but would seem like a likely partner for a coffee colab going off previous partnerships.
Happy update day lol
@tomdavies Will we still get one today?
