I wouldn’t say no to changes that brought Monzo closer to Amex-level customer service.
This particular tweet is not related to transaction disputes at all. I don’t know what exactly it is though.
… and work on iOS as well as Android
Interesting snippet in the tail end of that article that I had not seen mentioned before on here:
With that said, Monzo recently launched business accounts, many of which are revenue generating, with both free and paid tiers. I understand from sources that the number of business accounts opened to date already stands at approaching 20,000.
Doing well to already be at 20,000 given when the proper launch was
Agreed and some decent features
I don’t have a subscription to the FT. Any insight on what it says?
You can read most FT articles for free if you open a private browsing window, search for the article title, and click the seo link (not the google news module one). I guess it’s so their content still gets indexed by search engines.
I didn’t know that. Thank you for letting me know. However, I still don’t know the article title. Could you please share?
Revoult have said they want to buy a fintech company
They compare the relatively strong position of Revoult to the weaker position of Monzo
My main takeaway from that was…
“Revolut is also planning to start offering credit cards in the UK after applying for a consumer credit licence, according to recent job ads. It is looking to recruit credit specialists to lead development of the new service. A person close to the company said it was not expected to launch this year.”
Could steal a march on monzo here on what would definitely be a money maker
The only - only - mention of :mondo: in that story:
The company has so far not had to furlough any of its 2,500 staff, unlike rivals such as Monzo, although it has asked some employees to swap a portion of their salaries for shares in an attempt to conserve cash
Not quite Telegraph levels, but pretty much just dropping in there for some name recognition
Though there is a second mention of :mondo: from someone in the comments (which no one should ever read obviously):
On the other hand Monzo don’t have that war chest and would probably go bust. Bad luck
Monzo cash reserves is a fair question to ask, also we’ve heard from Anne Boden, we’ve heard from Revoult, we haven’t heard from Tom other then a tweet.
I have no doubt the business will survive and thrive long term, just a bit of visibility from the top of the shop would be nice
bit concerning to see even Revolut ahead of Monzo. Think it’ll be hard for european banks to compete with Chime. Hopefully Monzo isn’t putting all its eggs in the US basket…
I’m not convinced any European type bank will actually make it in USA it’s a totally different beast over there with so many different offerings already
Yeah, it’s not like HSBC or Barclays or Santander or BBVA or any other European banks are operating over there.
