Yeah they do post annual signups just not a live counter like Monzo do, what did support tell you out of interest?
Anyway it sounds like Monzo are planning on upping their advertising this year which I think is a good thing
edit: just looked it up and you’ve definitely got your numbers wrong! I’m sure percentage based starling might be growing faster, but on sheer numbers Monzo are getting 100k a month which would be 25% of starlings total customer base in a single month, Which I highly doubt based on previous figures they’ve given out.

That article pre-dates Starling’s huge ad spend which began around a month ago so doesn’t really reflect their advertising blanket bombing of London.
Monzo has grown much faster than Starling at every stage according to the figures available. There don’t seem to be any figures from Starling after their ad campaign began very recently so perhaps they are adding more than the 120,000 Monzo are currently adding each month? We will have to wait and see. I doubt it though.
There is an ongoing thread now (How do you “sell” Monzo to your friends?) in which Monzo’s marketing team are asking everyone for suggestions regarding their imminent ad campaign which appears to also be huge, including tv ads.
Whoever is growing fastest and whoever is better, it’s exciting times for all of fintech as the market is maturing and these guys are definitely hitting the mainstream now.

These are new, they just started appearing in the last week or so. Big tube platform ads and bus ads. I meant to upload a photo of the one at my station, but it’s right opposite the entrance, so it’s awkward to stand around there. I do notice people reading it though.

They gave me the numbers and Monzos are available online
For anyone from London I imagined you are not surprised as the Starling ads are everywhere

I should of menioned the reason I was talking to Starling support.
I applied for an account last Tuesday(8th) and had no information.
Aparently it usually takes 1 - 2 working days according to the app screen.
But the reason they gave was the sudden influx of people due to advert for it taking now 4x longer than usual
