Yay, finally got the email invite and signed up both my kids and cards in the post
Although I was bit confused about reference of an email sent to set up the kids app, as I donāt remember giving an email. Any ideas?

Kids are so excited about the different coloured cards to choose from!
Just received the notification I can now sign up!
It states I must be the parent or legal guardian, does this mean I can sign up for my step daughter? My wife is still on the waitlistā¦
Yes but then your wife will not be able to.
Thereās no dual access, only you will manage it.
We made a mistake. When opening the app on childās device we pressed setup a new account and entered his email address. Ended up using the QR code.
Now when trying to attach his email address to his account it says cannot use email, already attached to monzo account. Any way to solve this?
Itās a shame you canāt have a pot that offers interest on the kids account. My current usage is to have my kids money in an instant access savings pot in my account, and when they want to make a purchase, move it over to my account, then move it into the kids account so itās ready to spend. Bit of a faff. Good that Monzo are finally offering this though!
So I got my kids under 16 Monzo account todayā¦ It said to download the app on their phone and then scan this QR code.
Because youāve tried to open them a new account with their email, and their DOB rejects for new account sign ups because theyāre 16+.
The QR should work; if not:
Only step 1 you raised is a problem, the rest caused by you doing incorrect process/
Yeah I realized I didnāt follow the correct process. Iāll contact help to remove the email.
Thanks
Is it not possible to regenerate the QR code with your monzo app?
I donāt have kids so will never get to experience this
You can access the QR code to try / retry.
From āHomeā, tap on the Child Card to access the account details, then tap on the box underneath the card:
Install steps:
Apols if this has been answered, but as an uncle who does treat my nephews from time to time, can I pay into their Monzo and will I see them in my payee list?
No. You pay the adult account instead.
Think of it as a pot with an attached card for the child (and accompanying simple app)
Ok thanks. Iāll carry on paying their dad instead. What would happen if I sent them a pay with link via text?
You canāt. Thereās no direct link into the Child account from anything other than the linked Parent (Personal) account.
Youād have to send the link to their āDadā, if āDadā is the person with the linked Child account. Itās āDadā who has control over putting money into the Child account (think of it as a pot as @Carlo1460 accurately presented it), which āDadā can put money into from āhisā Personal account.
EDIT: Oh, FFS, long day. I tagged @Carlo1460 for this when in fact it was @michaelw90 who accurately presented it. Sorry both!
Thanks thanks very helpful
Not sure if you confusing me for @Carlo1460 is a compliment or insultā¦
Hey @georgiajohnson - I signed up for this as soon as it was launched. I dont seem to have had an email invite. Are these being phased?
We have a joint account. It makes sense to us to link our new Childrenās Accounts to the joint account so we can both control it and administer it. Instead, they are only visible in my husbandās personal account. I have no sight of them and there has been no offer of linking my personal account to my kidsā new accounts. We are used to Rooster, where one parent has access to all the settings but other parents can view transactions and transfer funds, presumably step parents too. We are so used to seeing our transactions on the joint account and our kidsā transactions on Rooster, it seems a backwards step to exclude one (or more) parent in Monzo.
