Iād love to go pink
Thank you. I am convinced.
Why should it? Iām happy with the default!
Set up Monzo for my son, heās actually excited, certainly compared to opening his first bank account with Nationwide! Heās also excited heāll have a true balance, and no pending transactions . BTW monzo mini would have been great branding!
Well done, Monzo
All set up now and money moved from Hyperjar (a fine free solution for the past few years)
Card arrived in less than 24 hours!
Is it possible to change āwhat they call youā or whatever that option was? Iām coming up as āDadā but apparently that makes her feel old and wants āDaddy-oā or something for pocket money.
From memory, when setting up the account, it informed you could change this name later. But Iāve searched and I canāt find it! Hopefully a planned update
Hiya! Weāre working on a way to update these in-app, but in the meantime please drop me a DM with the details and weāll get it sorted for you
Whatās with the motion blur on the Monzo logo?
Itās on the edge of the card as well. I can only assume the photo was taken aboard a ship.
Maybe it was taken on a 15 Pro Max
Not had a beer today. Hands arenāt steady.
Iāll try again when my Pixel 9 Pro XL arrives.
I have that tablecloth
Mine still not arrived
My daughterās card arrived today a day after posting notification. The almost 5 year old had a right tantrum for 5 minutes that he didnāt also get one.
Activation by tapping on the back of the phone worked well.
I asked if she could remember the PIN and she was err no. At least itās easy to get it in the app. Spending limits look good. I presume they can be temporarily be increased for a particular transaction if needed and then reduced again?
Didnāt receive my early access email I signed up too, can anyone help at all? Messaged two people this morning but not had much response maybe busy with the pre launch etc
My kid is only 2 so canāt get one. I do feel the cards look a bit bland/meh tbh.
Mine is fourteen. Added to Google Wallet then card straight into a drawer.
Without getting into the full discussion I had with my wife about adopting a joint surname when we got married, my surname is Mustermann*; my wife and children have the surname Smith Mustermann.
I signed up my daughter as Jane Smith Mustermann, but the system assigned the preferred name Jane Mustermann, and the name on the card as Jane S Mustermann.
Support have managed to change the preferred name, but it looks like theyāve issued a new card with the same name - when I asked about this, they said that weāve hit a character limit, and are suggesting J Smith Mustermann.
A few thoughtsā¦
- This old thread says that thereās a 23 character limit for embossed cards (her name is 25, including spaces) - surely thereās space for more now cards are flat and printed?
- other banks give you options of what youād like displayed on your card before you order them
- Rooster defaulted to first name only, which I think isnāt such a bad thing, especially for very young children.
Anyway, weāll have a ponder about how best to fit her name in, but in the meantime are happy to have an account!
- names have been changed
Disappointing. I was thinking āwhat a great nameā
There may well be more space on the card - the printing looks a little smaller than the old embossing, though itās hard to tell without putting my card side by side with an old embossed one. But the computer systems behind the scenes are notoriously slow to catch up. Iād guess the limitatiion is more likely to be the database field that holds āEmbossed nameā or whatever the field is called, which probably hasnāt changed in character count since the 60s.
