I can understand why, unfortunately the EUR account is invisible to the UK app for some reason so I still have to use the international app from time to time. Even the clunky old Cater Allen Euro account shows in Lloyds UK via open banking so I doubt itâs a difficult tech issue to overcome.
Itâs about ÂŁ25k now. If it went to ÂŁ35k, prices in the shops would go up about 40%.
In reality, they wouldnât because people couldnât afford that so thereâd be a massive jump in unemployment. Hospitality businesses would just disappear for a start.
The combo of minimum wage and employers NI went up a fair bit last year which is why so many hospitality businesses have been closing down.
If wages moved up the same level house prices did, that was my estimate.
Snag is that minimum wage increases largely hit the very people theyâre hoping to help. I donât know how to get around that other than massively upskilling people. But then, who would do the work at the bottom end of the scale?
Has anyone booked through Lloydâs yet for travel?
Seems a fair cashback offer.
Krakow is looking about ÂŁ107 each for 3 nights (flights arenât great but can still do something the evening on arrival).
Ryanair also running the ID10T sale with seats at ÂŁ16.99. Hope it still applies if you use the Lloyds link.
I didnât know theyâre offering so many things nowadays. The app looks a bit busy and things feel hidden down a long list.
They did nail the middle income, well-travelled target audience well tbf.
Booking travel takes you outside the app disappointingly but still links up.
Hopefully in time merges into the app.
I just used it on a break to Europe, didnât have any issues with the booking, although I only used it for a hotel.
Did it show in the app booking section?
Yes it shows in the âMy Travelâ part with the date, number of nights, etc and then if you want to see any more details you click it and it jumps out to a web page.
0550 flight? Ooft.
Not fussed, still ticks off the trip for what I want to do.
My Club Lloyds bank switch has completed today. Quick question about the switching bonus, do the 3 direct debits also need to pay out on the Lloyds account, or is it enough that they have paid out from the old account?
I believe the 3 direct debits just need to be active on the account.
They donât need to have been paid out, just as long as they are activate (by standards meaning it needs to have been active and/or usually collected within the last 13 months).
Itâs not clear how banks check if the direct debit has been collected, but if they had a system to check this, theyâd have likely saved 0000s of ÂŁ.
I think technically there is, and maybe Lloyds implemented it this time, weâll find out (Iâm on the same boat, I have DDs that will be CASSed over but first payment not collected yet).
I seem to remember seeing a âFirst Paymentâ reference sometimes when a DD first gets collected. Not sure if that varies per bank.
I think that will always show in the case of it being first payment with the new bank.
They have to be paid out from the account youâre CASSing from, and I think they need to stay active until they pay you the bonus. ![]()
They donât need to have had a payment taken, just be active at the time of switch, whether it needs to be active up to payout who knows, but it would make sense.
