That with even phoning the dedicated premier support no that’s supposed to be 24/7?
Yes. I realised there was a dedicated premier line. The good news was that the line didn’t just chuck me out and tell me to call back.
The bad news is when I said it was to do with account management it said to call back between 8-6 Mon to Fri.
I’m really surprised about that. If you’re going to offer a premier line then make it so, I.e. it’s open 24hr and can service the customer.
EDIT: hours below
Question is. Can you have a Personal Premier Account and then when joint accounts come can that be a premier account?
That’s really bad! The product is advertised as including ‘Priority access to our 24/7 Premier support team. Our dedicated colleagues will help with all your everyday banking needs.’ so that’s disingenuous at best, and blatantly false advertising at worst!
It’s classic Lloyds. They say they are there 24/7 for normal customers but what they really mean by this is you can message out of hours and either get no response or told to call back when they’re open.
It is a world apart from general and premier with HSBC. In those instances all of it is true 24/7 and the premier phone line is also this.
Generally speaking I’ve found them to be ok, the process and systems seem to be fault mostly.
Issues I’ve had are consistency between advisors, poor opening times and autonomy (the phone equivalent of “escalate to a specialist/call back when they’re open) and system blocks which is what I suspect has happened to the platinum account.
That all said when you do get someone I’ve found they’ll do their level best to resolve it even if they have to put you on hold while doing so.
The main challenge as said has been not being to speak to someone when you need.
I like Barclays Premier Phone line, it’s real 24 hours with British Accent ![]()

In the booklet it literally says lines are open 24/7, and lists help with your account and a number. Similarly, the web page says help is just a ‘call away’ 24/7. Hopefully they do implement this, else it is false advertising if only the message service is available
That’s the thing though. The lines technically are open 24/7 but the issue is anything other than general queries and it’s “you’ll have to call back when that department is open”.
Which is what happened to me. The agent I spoke to was very polite but ultimately couldn’t help. She said I’d need to call back in when the new accounts team opened.
I’m happy that I don’t need to regularly call in otherwise this wouldn’t work longer term. If First Direct or HSBC open a packaged account, or Nationwide finally get around to further modernisation such as notifications I think this will be enough for me leave Lloyds.
They are coming soon. And I’ve actually seen things in that list appear in the app relatively soon. Unlike FD which was coming soon for years. I reckon it’ll be here this year.
Although it has had that about the notification for ages and they’re still not here. It’s also a bit unclear what exact notifications there will be, what exactly does account or payment updates mean? Are they just saying notifications of transactions or do they mean something else
Just signed up to Bupa though not sure how useful it will actually be. Will get Disney+ when my free Vodafone trial cancels next month. Still don’t understand why they don’t offer upgrades though.
Payment notifications seem to work ok, can log in on multiple devices and PCs, got Lloyds to change the name on my card, so all good so far ![]()
Didn’t realise you could now rename open banking connected accounts, not sure when they added that?
This is the main point. I now get app notifications to approved changes to payees/payments I’ve already scheduled on the internet bank. Technically, that is a payment update.
The in app notifications is already live for Nationwide.
Auth payments via websites, new payee notifications, logging into online banking via app prompt.
There’s no indication transactional notifications will be coming, that section can be ticked off.
Only seems to be view pin missing.
Premier card is on the way, supposedly.
That’s so quick ![]()
Is it as flimsy as other new cards though? Lack of embossing these days makes cards feel so cheap.
Did you apply two days ago like most of us?
Looks verrrry nice.
