I think if you compare it to say NatWest Premier Select or Barclays Premier current account it’s pretty comparable if not better or do people not think they should be Premier accounts either?

It’s definitely not worth paying Ā£15 for but if you’re getting it for free then it’s comparable and if you’d qualify for those other options you can prob get this for free

This is why I’ve upgraded, on the basis that the product iterates over time. For now the card is nice, and there’s enough to make me have the hassle of two accounts so I can retain the insurance.

I was very much hoping for a comparable product to HSBC or NatWest I.e. travel insurance on the account even if there was a fee.

Will be interesting to see what comes.

Which NatWest account are you comparing it to though? The Premier Black? If so that’s pretty expensive compared to what you’re doing isn’t it even if it does have to be done with 2 accounts

Yes. I’m aware there are others but I went for the ones that include travel insurance in some form as for me that’s a key benefit of premier accounts.

I take the point that compared to the other accounts such as premier select it’s pretty ok and perhaps I was being a little harsh earlier in comparison.

I’ve got the account now, that was easy enough to upgrade and I’d image the card will appear in app tomorrow. Will then have to reopen a new platinum account to get the insurance elements back.

Hopefully over time insurance will be added to the premier so it can just be the one account.

God damn HSBC could only dream.

HSBC was the easiest for me to do. I applied, it changed over and the account opened up within 24hr.

Lloyds was second easiest in that the upgrade was instant and I could access the premier benefits right away. It even ported across the club Lloyds benefit I’d previously chosen.

Once we have the second, platinum, account setup tomorrow I think we’ll be all set for a while.

It’s a gateway drug, the idea is to capture clients from other premier accounts and then sell them on investing. It’s a shame they didn’t offer more carrots for acquisition. As has been said the kind of people with Premier accounts already will probably already have a PHI, mine comes with digital GP anyway.

While they may do so, you would expect them to at the very least to flag these additional products at launch if not already have them ready to go - especially as had 360 in the background.

It could be if many sign up to the current offering Lloyds actually have less incentive to actually make it an attractive product.

This happened to me. It worked the second time. I think that’s because there’s a new premier account in the mix somewhere that hasn’t appeared in app.

Reflecting back I think I was perhaps initially too harsh about the new premier offering. I stand by the fact I think, right now, it’s perhaps not quite what I was expecting but feel it might improve over time.

New cards only just been ordered so I recon it might appear correct tomorrow

I have never successfully added it on the iPhone; this was added on the MacBook.

since I have Lloyd from Feb, never added success on my phone, and no one can fix that, so many times called them.. not helping

It launched today, when you open an account your cards don’t generate until over night.

So tomorrow people will have them available for Apple Pay.

Having said that; Lloyds has issues with adding cards to Apple Pay across Lloyds and Halifax which they haven’t fixed yet.

Should be visible for those who applied, mine is, but of course Apple wallet doesn’t work for me and LBG :neutral_face:

It was as you say after 24hr but had to delete it and re-add it for it to show correctly. Nice design. Hopefully the real card arrives before I go on Holiday this weekend but being Lloyds I’m not convinced.

I’ve had the same issue for many months now. Lloyds just tell me that they don’t know what the issue is and they don’t know how to fix it, so I was left not being able to add any cards to Apple Pay and no help from Lloyds.

It’s why I left.
